Religion Survey
I'm curious about a few things religion-wise, so here are some questions for anyone willing to answer.

Once I pulled a muscle really bad, and the remains of St. Maria Goretti came to my church. (Look her up, she's awesome!) Everybody was touching the reliquary and when I stood up after touching it, my leg felt numb. I realized that it wasn't numb, it was just not stinging anymore! The rest of the day I was trying to think of a normal explanation for it, but nothing I thought of matched what I experienced. It was surprisingly hard for me to accept a miracle. But that's what happened. Cool, huh?
Proud Christian
I am a Satanist and we believe we are our own God. We're basically atheists but there's quite a but more to it and it's all philosophy. I've been a Satanist for nearly 2 years now, I think, and this is the longest I've believed in a religion.
I believe in souls because I believe ghosts exist (even though we're not supposed to, but I can't deny that I do) and I have actually been forced to do a Wiccan practice (it wasn't a Séance so I'm not calling it that but that's what it was like).
I exactly like you!!
I don't have any problem with religion. I have a problem with hardcore religionists. They take it waaay too far and let the bible ( I say bible because hardcore religionists are usually christian, no offense) completely control their lives. And also, the bible has created so many homophobics it's not even funny and that's what really pisses me off.. And how they always try to 'convert' me into their religion and say I'm the one in a dark place!!!! >:(
Atheist! I'm atheist with no religion... Well I kinda have my own if that counts xD
I think it's interesting that 53% (of 213 responders) believe in evolution, and yet 63% of the same amount of people believe in a soul.
I'm a Wiccan who believes in a God and Goddess. I do not believe in the Bible, Jesus, the Christian god, heaven, or hell. I was raised Christian, but I never felt like I belonged and it felt wrong for me. I do respect that others believe differently and have different religions. I believe they have that right. However, it's when they start shoving their beliefs down my throat that I have a problem with it.
Question 14 is soooo typically American - assuming that the world is made up of Americans only. I (along with 6,700,000,000 of the people of the world) am not American and have no idea what the stupid pledge of allegiance is.
First people thought God was in the mountains. When they climbed to the mountains, and God wasn't there, people thought God was in the clouds. When they learned to fly, they didn't see any God in the sky, so then they thought God was beyond the sky. Then people went to space, and God wasn't there... Now he's run off to some mythical Heaven out of our reality. He sure is a fast runner, ain't he?
Being atheist is the natural order of everything. Plants and animals don't do any worship. Babies and small children don't cite scripture as soon at they are born. The world is beautiful and miraculous without the concept of god. If any religion is close to being right, then it is the beliefs of Native Americans or pagans of Eastern Europe (namely the Baltic regions). They never sacrificed animals or humans to gods, and they respected nature. Their lives were simple and wise.
Fully agreed! :)
