Blown Like Ashes

In the year 2052, an illegal paramilitary group called Skyfall cuts North America off from the rest of the world by laying claim to the ports and shutting down the air ports. The citizens were subject to Skyfall for seventeen years until an accident with nuclear bomb blows South America off the face of the globe. And that's when the people who called themselves Americans began to take a stand for what they believe it.

Chapter 1

Prologue

by: Darsha
Don't get me wrong. It's not like I hate this world that we live in; this place that can be so beautiful and so deadly at the same time. A world where words tear apart your hopes like vultures ripping the flesh of unfortunate creature rotting away in the sun. A world where time withers a body to nothing but dust and bones. With people that make your heart cold and your body burn from head to toe with a strange sensation called emotion. And still a crocus peeps out of the snow at the beginning of spring.

I don't hate it. I just don't understand it.

You see- I'm telling you my freaking story right now because I'm a freak of nature. Somehow I survived the bombings and the raids and the whole attack in general. There's more people like me, of course. I wouldn't be the person that I am today or the hero that you all think I am without Annapolis or Riley. Or Brayden. They're the real heroes in this story. I was just along for the ride.

God! This is so messed up! I'm not even sure if any of it was the right thing to do, but when you don't have a family telling you right from wrong all the lines are so blurred.

You know what?

I'll stop yapping and start from the beginning. The beginning of the end. Alright?
