One Drink (Alaula Jasmine Knox)

by: Pierced_
How could they do this to me? I mean, I know I'm not wanted...but did it really have to end like this? I lost everything. Because of pressure.

"Drink," they told me.

"No," I replied nonchalantly, wanting them to leave me alone.

"Come on, just do it!" they snapped.

"Leave me alone."

"You're a coward."

I gritted my teeth and snatched the glass out of their prissy hands, and took a microscopic sip. I then slammed the glass down on the table, causing some of the liquid to spill.

"There. Now get away from me," I growled.

They snickered, taking the glass. "Whatever you say."

And they left. I didn't see them the rest of the party.

About two hours later, my head started to feel fuzzy. Maybe it was the music so loud your eardrums would pop, or all the background noise of people laughing and screaming their lungs out. I left after that.

I didn't know they slipped something in the drink. I didn't know I was going to lose the only people I loved. The only thing I realized was that I couldn't breath. My throat burned as my chest tightened, and then I felt pain. I couldn't move my body. My legs and arms seemed like lead. I opened my mouth to scream, but no sound came out. Suddenly, my mind plunged into darkness and I couldn't feel anything. The darkness wasn't peaceful.

The next time I opened my eyes, I saw gray. A lot of it. I looked down and moved my feet, only to find gravel. The sky above was a light gray. Fog snaked in the distance, blocking my view of the strange land.

Where am I? What happened? One thing is for sure, I'm not in the year 2106 anymore.

Bravely, I decided to look around the unfamiliar terrain. Who knew one drink...could cause you such pain?
