Chapter 1

I was running. My small feet pounding on the cobblestone. They were going to catch up to us soon, I could tell.

My brother, sister, and I were piercing the pitch black darkness of night. My heart was pounding in my ears, my breath ragged. But I couldn't stop. Stopping meant one word: death.

Knox was ahead of Adira and I, since he was stronger and faster. He suddenly darted into an dark alleyway. He grabbed the hoods of our black cloaks, and pulled us towards him.

I clung to my brother in fright and silenced my breath as best I could. A horrific silence fell upon the three of us.

Suddenly, we heard a pair of footsteps. They were distant, yet they echoed in my ears as if it was only a few feet away from killing us all.

Click. Clack. Click. Clack.

The footsteps went extremely slow, as if it knew we were close. They got louder. And louder. And louder.

The sound then ceased. I was about to take a breath when an extremely loud crashing sound came from nearby. I swore we were dead. We had to be dead.

But I only felt my brother holding Adira and I close to him, his body tense.

A deep voice growled and swore before more footsteps.

Then, nothing.

We all slid to the ground, still close together. All of us still in shock we couldn't say a word. The only sound was the freezing wind and my sister's shaking.

"We...We can't do this anymore," Knox breathed.

"T-That was w-way to close..." Adira added shakily.

"...But...where will we go? There is nowhere...no one...that will accept freaks like us," I inquired.

Knox and Adira were silent.

Just then, Knox expression changed. It was if he had an idea. "I know a place."

Adira looked up from her knees. "Where?"

"We're half bloods, remember? Dad gave us our powers...but Mum gave us some too. She's a witch," Knox explained.

"So? Literally everyone in the all of the Wizarding World is magical," I remind him.

"Yes, but I remember her talking about a place. I think she said it was her old school. It was one of the most safest places in the Wizarding World."

Adira and I exchanged confused glances before we look at our brother.

His expression changed to be dead serious. "Raven, Adira, we need to find Hogwarts."
