A Picture is Worth 1,000 Words [poem]

I made two more poems during today's finals. This is the first.

Chapter 1

A Picture is Worth 1,000 Words

A picture is worth 1,000 words.
That's what they say, right?
But is it true?
What is the meaning behind '1,000 words' anyway?
If a picture is meant to capture memories of the past, memories of our lives...
Does that mean a life is only worth 1,000 words as well?
Or perhaps the memories are our review of life, before we enter our individual deaths...
Is death worth 1,000 words then?
Such a small number, to represent something so large
Something so pure
It's uncanny.
To realize our lives are virtually nothing
On this chessboard of history, we are but mere pawns
A rare knight or bishop may show himself
But they all fall eventually.
To the Queen they soon bow.
