I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE WORLD! :D
So this is where all of my rants are gonna be, about what's wrong with the world. Yeah, I just don't like the world. At all.
Not even a little bit.
A LOT of this will be very feminist. But girls are Grade-A biitches, so I'mma be giving out about them, too.
Okay, first up, we have:
THE DEFINITION OF SLUT AND SLUT-SHAMING (ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ
Are you excited?
You should be excited.
According to the dictionary, "slut" has two meanings, but here we will only be referring to one; "a woman who has many casual s♥xual partners."
According to finallyfeminism101.wordpress.com, "slut-shaming, also known as slut-bashing, is the idea of shaming and/or attacking a woman or a girl for being s♥xual, having one or more s♥xual partners, acknowledging s♥xual feelings, and/or acting on s♥xual feelings."
If you're about to tell me that I should have used the dictionary to define both these things; SURPRISE! Slut shaming is not in the dictionary.
Okay, now let's look at the definition of a slut.
A slut is a woman with many casual s♥xual partners. Got it?
She is not a girl who you don't like in your school.
She is not your ex-boyfriend's current girlfriend.
She is not some girl you saw in the street who was wearing a short skirt.
She is not something that should be hidden away, and she doesn't downgrade the name of women.
Please remember that calling a woman a slut, skank, whore, etc is a form of sexism. This is because slut shaming is a result of sexist ideas of what women should and shouldn't be allowed to do. While there is a form of slut-shaming which relates to men, it is much less extreme and much less practised. In the eyes of many males, a slut in male form is a "stud." He is not seen as unworthy of respect; quite the opposite, in fact, as many men will admire him. Thus, women slut shaming each other is a form of internalised sexism. It's disruptive to women's relationships with each other.
While I do believe that you shouldn't slut shame, I am not one of those people who thinks we should stop using the term full stop. The word slut has been ingratiated into out society and I don't believe that we can completely get rid of it. I am of the opinion, however, that slut should not be used as a derogatory term. There is absolutely nothing shameful in a woman having many s♥xual partners. She can have as many as she wants, because guess what! It's absolutely none of your f♥cking business.
If someone is having consensual s♥x, they're being perfectly responsible, no one is getting hurt. Who the f♥ck are you to judge them?
Oh, so that girl likes s♥x? What a terrible crime against humanity she has committed! How dare she enjoy something that we were designed to enjoy?! Evil girl! We must shame her! Shun her! She is no longer considered a valid human being with valid feelings because she enjoys something that we are meant to enjoy.
I enjoy chocolate cake. Most people also enjoy chocolate cake. If I choose to have eight chocolate cakes a week, chances are, no one's going to shun me for that. No one's going to shout at me in the halls, throw insults at me, or assault me. Basically, no one really cares. It's not news. It's no big deal.
Okay, now let's say I have s♥x eight times in a week. Uproar in the school. My friends female will be pretty distant because who wants to be seen with that girl? Uh, no one, it's social suicide. I will have insults hurled at me in the corridors, people will think themselves superior to me, I'd be called "easy," a "slut," a "whore," a "skank," etc etc.
AM I THE ONLY ONE WHO SEES THE ISSUE HERE.
"I am waiting for the right person." Awesome good for you, I can dig it.
"I can have s♥x with who I want, it's my body." So true, go you.
"You haven't had s♥x? Haha loser." No shut up.
"You shouldn't have had s♥x you should be saving yourself." Go home you're like twelve.
Basically, your ignorance is more scandalous than my promiscuity if you're in the habit of slut-shaming.
Hey maybe people have s♥x because ?????? it's fun ????????? and yeah that's a universal idea I think a lot of people would agree with that notion and if someone else's choices that arEN'T AFFECTING YOU IN ANY WAY are seriously offending you then there is something wrong with your brain and you should get that sh♥t checked out.
anD THEN THERE'S THOSE PEOPLE WHO ARE ALL LIKE "IF A GIRL DRESSES LIKE A SLUT THEN IT'S EQUALLY HER FAULT FOR GETTING R♥APED"
WHAT EVEN IS WRONG WITH YOU
DID YOU SERIOUSLY JUST SAY THAT
PLEASE TELL ME YOU DON'T REALLY THINK THAT
That's like saying that if someone is eating in front of you that you have the right to go "HAHA YOINK" and taKE THEIR SANDWICH AWAY FROM THEM
AND THEN BLAME THEM FOR THE TAKING OF THEIR SANDWICH BY TELLING THEM THEY SHOULDN'T HAVE BEEN EATING A SANDWICH IN THE FIRST PLACE
DON'T BLAME PEOPLE FOR HAVING THEIR SANDWICHES TAKEN
But seriously, wayyyyy too much slut shaming culture is based around how people dress.
And I've heard girls say sh♥t like "oh, it's not that I think it's wrong or anything, I just think it's disrespectful to yourself. insert idiotic girlish giggle here "
What even is wrong with you.
Respecting yourself is not saying "oh, I'm not a slut because I'm not wearing a low-cut top and a short skirt, I'm perfectly respectful now."
Respecting yourself is about saying "hey y'know what, I think I'll wear whATEVER THE F♥CK I WANT" because you cAN'T JUDGE A PERSON'S SELF-WORTH ON WHAT THEY WEAR.
I REPEAT; YOU CAN'T JUDGE A PERSON'S SELF-WORTH ON WHAT THEY WEAR.
Some things for you to remember:
1) There is literally nothing special about virginity like it's not even technically a real thing have you ever seen a virginity or heard a virginity or touched a virginity I think not.
Seriously, society created virginity.
It doesn't matter.
thERE IS NO MEDICAL DEFINITION FOR VIRGINITY THAT'S HOW MUCH OF A NOT-REAL THING IT IS
2) Purity isn't a "virtue." It's not something to take pride in. It's just something that's there. Like fish, or tofu.
3) Losing your virginity does not make you either a "woman" or a "man."
4) Even if it did there's nothing shameful about being a woman like seriously your mother has had s♥x do you shame her for that I think not.
5) Internationally, the obsession with perpetual girlhood is creepy and controlling.
My advice for anyone who is told to stop doing something or wearing somethig because it's "slutty;"
Get very, very close to them.
Whisper, "does my comfort with my s♥xuality intimidate you???? FANTASTIC"
Now prance out of the room like the majestical little buttercup that you are.
If you want to be a "slutty" version of something for a cosplay or for Halloween, go right on ahead and don't let anyone call you "easy" (people don't have difficulty levels) because ily and you have every right to dress however the f♥ck you want and you look fabulous.
That is self-respect.
