Door Belle Ringing

This was the first song/poem I'd ever actually written down. This (once again) was inspired by other bands (particularly Every Time I Die and The Agonist). It is about the world between life and death, and about-- well, I don't want to give it ALL away. Perceive it how you wish-- it's poetry, it should mean something different to each person. Feel free to let me know what this means to you or any other comments! Thanks!

Chapter 1

Door Belle Ringing ('Ding Dong Ditching')

by: DaxiTaxi
Intro
I never thought I was all that bad,
But I guess that last pill put me over the top,
I guess I had too much to drink,
Didn't know when to stop.

Verse 1
Next thing I know I wake up dead,
A bullet shot right through my head,
I was too numb to feel it anyway,
Searching my way through purgatory.

Chorus
I've been knockin' on heaven's door,
I've never waited this long before,
So now I'm inpatient,
Intoxicated,
Running to see if hell is home tonight.

Verse 2
I guess now in retrospect I notice all my sins,
And now my confession begins,
The pills I ate,
My boiling hate,
The wrongs I never "righted".

Chorus
I've been knockin' on heaven's door,
I've never waited this long before,
So now I'm inpatient,
Intoxicated,
Running to see if hell is home tonight.

Ending
I have been ringing on hell's door,
I've never waited this long before,
So now I'm impatient,
Infuriated,
Trying to find where I belong in death.
