UPDATED: Story from 21/3/13: I am converting to Satanism [read]
Things have really been starting to develop lately, especially in my life. That's what I would like to talk about, so if you don't like posts about people turn back now. I know people are going to have a lot of different opinions on this and that's okay.

I've been a Satanist one whole year today, and it's still not going to change now.
It started off when I felt I was part of a religion. I just didn't know which one. I decided to look in to different ones like Christianity and Buddhism. Then I started researching deeper, finding ones like Satanism.
After finding Christianity wasn't me, nor Buddhism, I researched in to left-hand paths more.
Satanists are not evil people, they are very good people with good morals and intentions. They are independent and they use logic. They use Satanist as a symbol and do not believe in Satan himself.
Satanists are either agnostics or atheists. Some Satanists actually call themselves "i-theistic" because they still do technically believe in a God. We do NOT sacrifice animals or harm little children. Hopefully that will clear up a lot of stereotypes the media portrays us to have/be doing.
I used to have a link to the Official Church of Satan Satanic Rules page but I know some of you might feel a little uncomfortable going on there (like I do with godhatesgoths. Even though I know it's a joke page, it still annoys me).
The only thing stopping me is that God and Satan are two sides of a coin. You can't have one without the other and the existence of God just doesn't made sense to me, therefore I don't actually worship Satan.
If you are close to me / have been close to me, you will know that I do a lot of research. I am not one of those people who will stand around and ask people who don't know what something is because I am straight to researching it. It stops people getting in to fights because they thought something stereotypical about that subject.
Another thing I want to clear up is "Satanism" is not the same as "Devil Worshipping". "Devil Worshipping" is sometimes teenagers who are trying to shock their parents by killing animals or even something serious like a child. These "Devil Worshipers" are poseurs.
Now "Theistic Satanists" are the ones who worship the devil, and know what they're doing.
This YouTube user (https://www.youtube.com/user/VenusSatanas) is a real theistic Satanist and if you're interested, you can go and watch some of her videos. I find her interesting, but it doesn't really help me considering I'm with a different part of Satanism.
Satanists are actually followers of Anton LeVey, he wrote "The Satanic Bible" in 1969. He died the year I was born (1997). Satanists are individuals who are independent. I love how they all make logic sense. Satanists are very intelligent and it links in with my life literally. I am a member of the Gothic subculture, the Gothic subculture is quite an intelligent subculture (not including the few bad eggs, and not including poseur goths or babybats). Goth represents beauty, patience and individuality. Satanism represents beauty and individuality also. By no means I am I saying that people who are Goth should become Satanists because you can get Goths of all religions. This is just me, and me only (unless it's you? XD). This is what I believe and this is how I want to live my life.
I've actually told my parents and my step-dad panicked about it for a bit because he saw my Satanic Bible but I went in and talked to him about it, so he's fine with it. It's probably forgotten, but he hasn't said anything. I told my mam and like when I told her I'm Goth, she completely accepts it and doesn't mind as she is an atheist herself.

There we are. Satans temper in your words and actions. There is a lie hidden beneath its surface. The devil was a liar from the beginning. Go ahead, trust him. I want to help you, you idiot. You may be believeing its all okay, yeah its all Satan. Satan is going to lose in the end anyways it is already foretold there is no point in losing with him. And burning forever. He is only trying to bring with him as many people as possible.
She just said she doesn't actually worship Satan, she's not Theistic.

She doesn't believe in God nor the Devil! LaVeyan Satanism(her branch) is more of a Hedonistic philosophy with limits that prohibit atrocities such as sacrificing children. People don't need to believe in God to be saved. God cares about actions not beliefs and if it's the other way around. And if it's the other way around, then I'll proudly walk off to Hell.
Satanism is a crapped up religion where people fall prey to Satan. Yeah, you might be like erm we don't worship Satan but you do. His names in the flippin title. 'Satan'ism.
Satanists are victims whom are being misled by Satan to turn against God because thats all Satan wants.

Im actually really glad you wrote this because I have wanted to be a Satanist but I though you had to believe in God to do so which I don't so therefore I thought I couldn't be a Satanist, it sounds like a really cool religion and I think I might do some more research on it. :)
But we don't believe in God? We believe we are our own God. Not in a spiritual way, but in a way that we are saying we are in charge of our own thoughts, feelings, wants and needs. It's not hard to believe you're your own God, because you're not exactly believing in something that you don't know exists or not but that's how I see it anyway.
We're atheists.

I know it's hard for some people to accept the fact that this is who you are. But, you stilll don't change who you are for some ignorrant person on the internet. I admire you for that. After all, it is in the bible that judgeing is a sin, and some of the people who call themselves christans are judgeing you.
