Chapter 2: Bad Kids Do Bad Things

Kennedy just stared at Alec, her eyes wide.
"Excuse me? I just got here and I'm kind of tired-"
Alec's laughed cut her off.
"I am not stupid Kennedy Atkins, I know you're scared of most of the kids here. Don't worry, I'll keep your dirty deeds under wraps, but come with me to insure my promise. And I will protect you from the bad ones," He said in a mock-ominous tone. He stared at Kennedy with an unreadable expression.
"And who will protect me from you?" She asked.

Alec raised an eyebrow, his expression either amused or appalled. His lips curved into a demure smirk.
"Hmm, was that a rhetorical question or do you want me to answer that?" Alec asked, sitting up and staring at Kennedy.
"It's rhetorical, and I don't care to find out what you bad kids do for fun."
"You seem to forget Kennedy Atkins, that you are one of us. You are a bad kid. And apparently one who is interested in the distribution of pornography, I wonder what some of the guys here would say about that?" Alec asked in an almost threatening way.

"Excuse me, but are you black-mailing me? I just met you and you're already using something against me?" She asked, stupefied.
Alec leaned forward, his elbows resting on his knees, and his ice blue eyes stared at her icily.
"When I happen to see something, rather someone, who catches my attention and I want them, I will have them. And roommate or not Kennedy Atkins, you have definitely caught my attention. And the view is pleasant from this side of the room," Alec said, his eyes dancing with amusement.
Kennedy just stared at him, her stomach churning and throat enclosing.

"I don't want to see what you do for fun, I'm perfectly fine with staying here," Kennedy said sternly, squaring her shoulders and showing she wouldn't be frightened into anything.
A dark shadow fell across Alec's beautiful face, but disappeared as quickly as it had appeared.
"That's fine with me, I would love to get to know you better Kennedy." Alec stood up and crossed the room in two long strides and stood right in front of Kennedy.
Alec leaned in closer to her.
"Get away from me," She said, eyes narrowing.
Alec's fingers brushed the skin on her bare arm.
"I cannot do that Kennedy Atkins, I'm your roommate, I'm here when you are. And it's going to stay that way," Alec said, his voice lowering.

Kennedy stepped away from Alec and ending up falling on her bed. This caused Alec's smirk to grow more prominent.
"See? I'm already starting to get the feeling that we're going to be more than just great friends," Alec said, leaning down until he hovered over Kennedy, holding himself up and his hands on either side of her head.
Kennedy was frozen, she didn't know what to do. She was stuck in this room with this guy she had only met little over an hour ago, and here he was, hovering over her while she lay on her bed.

"You can kiss me Kennedy, because in this moment, it's the most appropriate thing to do," Alec said, his breath fanning across her face.
"I'd rather not," Kennedy said, surprising herself with how stern her voice was.
"But it'd be better if you do," Alec said, his lips brushed hers.
Kennedy attempted to push Alec away, but realized that he was much stronger than his appearance led on.
"I just met you Alec, and I am already not particularly fond of you. The feeling went from dislike to hatred, shall we push it further to loathing? If not, I suggest you go back to your side of the room," Kennedy said.

This made Alec chuckle, and return to his side of the room.
"I like you Kennedy Atkins, pretty, intelligent, and a challenge. You wouldn't believe what most girls would have done in that situation," Alec said, not taking his eyes off of her.
"I can honestly say I don't feel the same. I would be fine with you not talking to me ever again," Kennedy said, sitting up and scooting towards the wall.
"I don't believe that and neither do you, Kennedy. Just wait, I shall have you fawning over me just like the rest of these bad girls. The only difference between them and you is that you're into the more exciting and dirty stuff," Alec said, his smirk never leaving his face.

Kennedy had the urge to smack the smirk right off his face, but decided against it, knowing he would do much worse to her. Kennedy mentally insulted him with every name in the book, and as he read her face, she thought even worse things. And as if reading her mind, he returned to her side of the room and grasped her arms in his strong hands. He dragged her to her feet roughly, his face volatile. His breathing was ragged and his hands warm.

"Let it be known that I don't joke around or play games when it comes to things I want, Kennedy Atkins. I get what I want in the end, and they are mine until said otherwise. You can fight all you want Kennedy, it just makes it all the more fun for me. I'll leave you be since you've just arrived, but in all due time shall I pick up where we left off. I have done very bad things, maybe worse than some of the kids here, and I'm not ashamed to tell you or show you. I wear my sins as a badge of valor and honor. I'll see you later," Alec said, letting go of her arms.

Kennedy stumbled back as he all but pushed her away from him. He walked through the door without so much as another word. Kennedy was relieved and happy that he had left. She didn't like him, despite his model-worthy good looks or apparent intelligence. She was going to keep her distance as best as she could despite being his roommate. She would keep her distance, head held high, and sleep with one eye open.

Why? Because if bad kids do bad things once, the odds are a second and third time won't bother them any.
