Blue-Eyed Boy, Glass Girl

Chapter 1

Blue-Eyed Boy, Glass Girl

They are just a blur
These faces
Trapped in lifeless images
Before me
Every one is different
And yet,
The same

There is the boy whose eyes
Are absolutely,
Completely and only,
And the girl
Who is small and delicate
Like a figurine
Of glass

There are more
Countless thousands more
Lost in my head
Once seen
And easily forgotten
Only the blue-eyed boy
And glass girl
Dance in my memories

All the rest
Are insignificant
Strangers who brushed past
Me on the train
On my train
How sad that only two
Stayed for any length of time
But even sadder
That they finally stepped off

I lost them in the crowd
Of that busy
Station platform
