Lonely acorn

OK so, I thought I'd try my dab at entering one of The Quibs's contests.

Love you all! ♥ ^-^

Chapter 1

Gowing up?

I am but a lonely acorn, sitting on my tree,
I can't see where I'm going, nor where I want to be,
I feel the wind blow me back and forth, in the autumn breeze,
I fear that I am about to fall, in the mist of trees.

Will this be my only chance?
The only chance I have?
To become an acorn tree,
An acorn tree I'll stand.

A strong trunk I'll have,
Pretty leaves will grow,
People will come and play with me,
and so will the snow.

Then the autumn breeze will come once more,
To blow them all away,
And I'll watch them fall with heavy heart,
But, I'll let them go either way.

Maybe someday that's what I'll become,
Maybe someday that's what I'll want to be,
But, for now;

I am a lonely acorn, sitting on my tree.

The inspiration:

I was sitting at my desk, after having just eaten dinner, and suddenly all this inspiration came to me that I just had to write down. All the words just seemed to fall into place!
I have been thinking about participating in this contest since it came out so, I assume my brain was able to ponder on the matter till, finally! Here we are with the results.

Links and poets-poems:

Well, to be honest, I don't really read poems, nor have poets that I follow. Though, this one, that my mother told me about long ago, is pretty good:

The Road Not Taken, by Robert Frost.

These are my favourite verses:

Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I,
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

Also an Italian poem called: L'infinito, by Giacomo Leopardi.

This is my favourite verse:

Così tra questa immensità s’annega il pensier mio:e il naufragar m’è dolce in questo mare.

Here's the translation of the poem into English:
