The Night Children. (Poem)

Chapter 1

The Night Children (Poem)

Children of the moon,
The time to awake is soon.
A fast shadow of black and gray.
These beings are cursed, so they say.
Tales spun for fear of the unknown.
Yet no harm have they ever shown.
They say they come from a witch's brew
Only because they look like something new.

Like a shadow they are silent.
During the day, where have they went?
Sleep, my darlings...
Wait for the song of the starling
To come to an end.
Then into the night, it is them she will send.
Have no fright
Of the Children of the Night.
