Forever Changed (A Teenage Love Story)

Chapter 1

Seeing Him.

I caught his eyes on the other side of the room. I quickly glanced back down, I didn't want to talk to him, to interact with him at all. Not since our break up.

Shelby saw how uncomfortable I was. "Cali, are you okay?" She asked.

"uh... sure," I said kinda dazed.

"Was it Ty?" she inquired.

"yeah," I mumbled.

Ty and I dated for awhile, and he sunk into a deep depression. I said I would be there for him, and I did, but he then put all of his frustration onto me. He blamed me for making his depression worse. I called it quits after that, but he wouldn't leave me alone. He pestered me, told me that he was going to get me, even faked killing himself a couple times. I then shut off all communication with him.

"Cali, you're making this a big deal," Josh, another kid at my lunch table said to me.

"No, she has every right to be concerned," defended Shelby.

As they bickered, I slowly pondered in thought, trying to figure out all ways that I could avoid Ty. He was in the grade above me, so we didn't have any classes together. That helped limit contact. But we had lunch together, and my worse fear was that he would come up and confront me.

The bell interrupted my thoughts. I got up, waved to Josh and Shelby, then walked out out the lunchroom. The halls were crowded and I was being pushed and shoved. Next thing I know, Ty is next to me. I panic, searching for a familiar face. All strangers.

I keep my head down, and push through people, trying to put as many bodies between us as possible. I escaped the crowd, and ran to my class.

I made one mistake. I looked back. And there he was. Ty was staring at me on the other end of the hallway.

I again put my head down and hurried to my class, not looking up. And I ran straight into Ryan.

"Hey, watch where you're going," he joked.

"Oh my gosh, Ryan, I'm so sorry!"

"What were you running from? You look like you've seen a ghost."

"Ty." I mumbled.

"Never liked that kid."

The warning bell rang.

"Well, I guess I'll see you later," I said, looking down.

"Alright. And Cali?"

"Yeah?" I replied, looking into his icy blue eyes.

"Look where you're going, you may run into someone if you don't," he said, as he winked and walked away.

I blushed a little, and then went into my next class.

Ryan and I have been friends since 7th grade. He's been one of those people who has continuously been there for me. He's listened to me, comforted me during the break up with Ty, I honestly wouldn't know where I would be without him. And.. I've started having feelings for him.

The school day went by so slowly after lunch. As soon as the last bell rang, I ran out, trying to avoid seeing Ty again.

Someone caught my wrist.

I turned around, seeing a very calm Ty. My eyes widened in fear.

"Cali, I need to talk to you," he stated.

I looked frantically around, trying to see if I could get out of it. Luckily my eyes met Ryan's. He started walking over to me. I turned back to face Ty.

"About what?" sounding more confident then I felt.

"Why have you been avoiding me? Every time I see you, you just kinda walk away."

My mind went. "I.. uh.. well you see-"

"She's been busy trying to keep her priorities in check. Lately, you haven't been one of them," Ryan replied as he walked up to me.

"I didn't ask you," Ty remarked.

I knew I had to say something. "I've been busy. And honestly, after the way you treated me, I didn't need you to distract me."

Ryan's hand found his way into mine. He gave it a tight squeeze, saying that I said the right thing.

"Well. Glad you moved on. But Cali, I haven't. I still think about you all the time," Ty said.

Ryan stepped in. "You know that she lost all trust in you after the way you treated her. So my advice? Stay away from her. If you really care about her, you won't hurt her again."

Thank goodness for Ryan.

"Well. okay. See ya around, Cali," Ty softly said. And he walked away. I could tell he was hurting.

"If you need help getting rid of him, just let me know," Ryan whispered to me.

I turned around and hugged him. "Thank you."

"Anytime, Cali. Now let's get you home," he replied.

He drove me home, and started to get out, but he kept the doors locked.

"Let me out!!" I said.

"Wait." He replied.

I looked at him, really taking in how much he's changed since we met.

"Oh alright. Guess I'm trapped here." I jokingly said.

"Yep. Stuck with me!" He said, playing along.

"And ever."

I leaned towards him. His playful look changed into something more intense, something lustful. I smiled a bit, before I gently placed my lips onto his.

And I felt something.
