Chapter 12

Chapter 10

"Sophia?" Asked a voice from through the door. I stayed sitting as I was, arms still hugging my knees as I rested my chin against them. I heard the door open and someone walking over to me. "Sophia?" The voice asked again, sitting down next to me on the bed. I glanced at the person and saw that it was Loki.

"How do you fair?" He asked softly, tucking a strand of hair behind my ear.

I huffed a sigh, "I don't know" I paused, "I'm so confused about everything! Who am I supposed to be?" My frustration showed through in my voice.

"You're name is Sophia Graves. In a place called Earth, or as we Asgardians refer to is as Midgard, you're what's called a mutant. A human with special powers. You majored in human religions as well as mythology and taught it to young mutants as well. You were called into an organization called SHIELD, where you had to fight me. We fell in love, I couldn't bear to hurt you, but I had a promise to keep. So . . . I did what I thought was best and would keep you safe" he paused, looking at me, "and by doing that, I caused you to be sentenced to prison for the rest of your life. I was later captured and had the cell next to it; it had been at least two years since I had least seen you. Thor, my brother, was able to get us out- the price however was that we could never return to Midgard. It was the only way to get you free" Loki looked down at his hands shamefully. "I'm so sorry for what I put you though, Sophia, but please understand it was to protect you." I stared at him in shock, not sure what exactly too say to him.

"But because of bringing you here, you've lost your memory- and I will do everything in my power to bring it back" he promised me. I reached my hand out and placed it on his.

"Thank you" I said softly before standing up and moved to stand in front of him. I lifted his chin up with my fingers and looked down into his eyes, "I appreciate your help, Loki. I would love if you could help me gain back those memories." He curled his fingers around my wrists as his stood up, his taller frame standing over my smaller one.

"We'll get them back, but in the mean time, stay away from Njord. I don't trust him" he said, brushing a strand of hair out of my eyes.

"Okay" I nodded before he held out his arm for me to take.

"Let's get you some food" he offered a small smile before leading me down the grand hallways of Asgard. I looked at the marble walls and the gold lettering and pictures all over the place. The palace seemed to glow as the sun's light hit it at just the right angle. I was lead into a large room with a very large oval table in the center with a feast piled high on top it's wooden surface. Both men and women had sat down and begun their feast, digging into the food.

Loki lead me to the far end of the table, over by a woman of beauty. The one that had scolded me for being out of bed a day ago. Next to her sat an older man, a white beard adorned his chin while he had a gold eye patch covering his left eye. Next to him, there was a younger man, blonder locks and a matching beard as well. His electric blue eyes looked at us.

"Ah, Brother! You've decided to make an appearance! And you've brought Lady Sophia as well!" he grinned at us.

"Yes, Thor, I have" Loki rolled his eyes as he pulled out a chair for me to sit. He then took a seat next too me before helping me figure out what I wanted to eat. I sat there quietly as the warriors around me were talking about battle and fighting, all of which went in through one ear and out the other. Loki seemed to notice and indulged me in quiet conversation, talking about things that I might possibly want to do while I lived in Asgard. Before we could continue talking, a messenger burst though the doors.

"King Odin!" he cried out, before bowing, "I have word from the battle front."

"Yes, what is it" the white-bearded man asked, leaning forward in interest.

"The fire giants from Muspellheim, sire, they've defeat our defenses in the outer rim and are headed straight for Asgard" the messenger said. Odin's eye widened in shock.

"When?" he asked.

"Three days, tops sire"

"Send word out, prepare our defenses, get our troops prepared, now!" Odin ordered. The room fell into chaos after that. The people around the table got up and began carrying out Odin's orders.

"Loki? What's going on?" I asked, a bit freaked out as he and I stood up.

"I'll explain once we get you to your room, we'll need to prepare you" he said before turning to Odin. "They're after her, trust me Father, we need to keep her safe" he said to the King.

"Why do they want a mere mortal?" Odin asked, unconvinced.

"She has the blood of Surt within her and he's coming to claim what he thinks is his. Ragnarök is coming."

I wanted to just say thanks for reading and holding out on me. I'm going to try and get in another chapter or two before I take a break and upload a story I've got in the works right now. Anyway, next chapter will hopefully be up soon! :) I hope you enjoy it and if you have any ideas, just leave me a private comment and I'll take it into consideration ^^
Luv y'all!
