Not A Love Story

A love story between moi and the lovely Ross Lynch of R5. Between jealous bandmates and mysterious mystery, can Ross and I ever be together?

Chapter 1

Not Gonna Believe It

by: Niffbows
It's cold outside but I don't have a coat so I rub my hands together for warmth. I had just been to R5's latest concert and now I was walking home. A horn beeped from beside me. I turned around and saw Mark Lynch, his head outside the driver's side window.

"Need a ride?" he called, smiling. I nodded, gratefully. The doors opened and I climbed inside, the sudden heat blasting me in the face and warming me up.

"It's cold outside. Why don't you have a coat?" Stormie asked, leading me to the table, where Rocky sat, writing something. He looked up and smiled at me. I smiled back.

"Hey, Mom. Who's this?" Ross asked sleepily, his hair sticking up in the cutest way.

"Oh! I didn't even ask you your name!" Stormie exclaimed apologetically.

"Don't worry. My name's Danielle. Nice to meet you, Mrs. Lynch." I said, using my manners. Stormie waved her hand.

"Please. Just call me Stormie." she grinned and went to the back of the bus, cleaning up. Ross slid into a seat next to me and I tried not to squeak. Ross ran his fingers through his already untidy hair and was now wide awake, all of his attention on me.

"So, what brings you onto our tour bus, Dani?" Ross asks.

"Oh... well your Dad offered me a ride." I said, blushing slightly. Rocky finished writing and went to the back of the bus, collapsing onto the couch, falling asleep instantly. Ross sniggered.

"Hey, Danielle?" Where do you live?" Mark asked from the front of the bus. I told him my address and he programmed it into the GPS. I sat there, kind of embarrassed and not sure what to do. Ross' eyes were trained on me.

"Uh... Ross?" I asked.

"Hmm?" he mumbled.

"D'you think anyone would mind if I... took a nap?" He grinned.

"Of course not!" he said. "Can I see your wallet really quick?" I was alarmed for a minute but I gave it to him, trusting him.

"Go to sleep." he cooed. I could feel myself slipping and soon I dirfted into a peaceful sleep.

"Thanks for the ride, Mr. Lynch!" I said, waving.

"Call me Mark! It was nice to meet you, Danielle. I hope we meet again." Mark grinned. I waved goodbye. I checked my wallet to make sure Ross hadn't stolen anything, which I doubt he did. A slip od paper fell out and I grabbed it before the chilly December air took it. All it had was a cell number on it. I quickly programmed it into my phone and texted it.

Hey! It's Dani.

I got a quick reply.

Hey, it's Ross! I knew you'd find it!

I typed back a response.

I thought you were going to steal my money.

What?! I would never.

I know you wouldn't, but people don't just ask other people for their wallets.

Here I was having a conversation with Ross Lynch. I couldn't dare to believe it. My phone dinged with another text from Ross.

Yeah. My fault.

No problem. So, whatcha doing?

Not sleeping.

Oh good. I was worried there for a minute.

Yeah. Rocky's bugging me.

Tell him I said hi.

I did.

So, tell me about yourself, Dani, the girl without a coat.

XD You sure you don't want fish fingers and custard first?

What? No.... ohhh.

Yay! You got it!

I'm going to start calling you Amy.

Go ahead.

All right, Pond. Tell me about yourself.

Wait, if I'm Amy, does this mean you're Rory?

It even fits with your band!

Lol, I didn't even notice.

Ah, Rory.

Ah, Amy.

So, I guess I should tell you about myself, huh?

That would be delightful, Pond.

Well, I'm sixteen, my favorite color is aquamarine, I love tigers, the sight of blood makes me dizzy and I like singing even though I'm not good at it.

Omg! You're a blood fainter!

Ross... what?

You faint at the sight of blood.

Okay, Mr. Smarty, tell me about yourself.

Don't you read teen magazines?

Then you should know all about me.

No. I don't want to build up this image of you based on what I read in magazines. I want to get to know you myself.

Oh... whoa.

Did I say something wrong?

No. You just startled me with your honest-ness.

That's not even a word.

It is now.

You're so funny.

Aren't I?

No. Not really.

I'm only joking, Ross.

Yeah, sure.

When will you guys come back here?

I don't know. It could be months.

I'm sorry. Hey! I know! I'll buy you a plane ticket and toy can fly here!

....I don't know. I have school.

But it's winter break, yeah?

So, I'll buy your ticket and you can stay with us for the rest of winter break!

Because it'll be fun.

No. That's not what I meant. I meant why me? Out of all the other girls, why me?

You stood out. You're the girl without a coat.

I still don't understand.

You're unique.

You don't know me.

I want to.

Yes. Yes of course.

Okay... I'll fly to LA. If...

If what?

If you promise to fly with me

Amelia Pond, are you asking me out?

No... it's just...

Just what?

I'm afraid of heights.

Well, in that case... I'll come with you!

Really? Wow... you sure are amazing.

*Why thank you, Pond./

Dork. :p

Hey, I'm cute!

Yeah. Yeah.

I'll see you at the airport tomorrow?

Yep. I'll be there.

Okay, cool. Well, I booked a flight for 12:15pm

Cool. See you tomorrow.

Goodnight, Pond.

Goodnight Rory.

I didn't have to ask my parents. They've been busy with work and someone looking after me would get a load off of their backs. I woke early, like 6am early. I showered and dressed in my favorite beat up jeans, my blue shirt and my R5 guitar pick necklace. I slipped on my shoes and quickly brushed my hair and pulled it into a ponytail. I didn't put on any makeup. I mean, I didn't want to seem like I was trying too hard. I took the bus to the airport and when I arrived it was 8:15am. I opened my bags and took out some books that I had brought for the flight. I read until it was about 11:45am and then I packed my books away and waited for Ross. Time was ticking closer. Someone with a grey hoodie, black sweats and dark sunglasses on sat next to me. I began to panic. It was 11:58am and I was freaking out. The person next to me was reading something on their phone but I didn't want to be rude so I looked away. I texted Ross at 12:05.

Where are you?

I tapped my fingers on my thigh until I felt my phone vibrate.

Look to your right.

I looked to my right and Ross was sitting beside me, a huge grin on his face.

"Ross!" I exclaimed, wrapping my arms around him. He hugged me back. We stayed like that for a moment until Ross pulled away, grabbing my bags.

"After you m'lady." he said in a mock English accent. I giggled as we boarded the plane.

I held on tightly to Ross' wrist as the plane landed.

"Wow, you must have been really scared. You barely let go of my wrist the whole flight." Ross joked. I glared at him and let go of his wrist. We exited the plane, Ross carrying my bags.

"You don't have to carry my bags." I said, frowning. Ross set down my bags and showed me his muscles.

"Trust me. I think I can handle them." he smiled. I couldn't help but smile back.

"So how are we getting to your house?" I asked once we were outside. Ross walked up to a shiny lack BMW and unlocked it. I'm pretty sure my lower jaw hit the ground. Ross put my bags in the trunk and turned to face me.

"You should close your mouth before you catch flies." Ross grinned. He opened the passenger's side door and I climbed in, thanking him. He closed the door and then climbed into the driver's side and soon we were pulling out of the airport parking lot. We were driving down the highway, me fascinated by the scenery. Ross poked me in the ribs.

"What?" I asked, turning to face him.

"It's funny how intrigued you are by LA." he said.

"Can you blame me, Rory? I've never been here before so I think I'm justified to be intrigued." I retorted. Ross just laughed. We sat in silence for a few minutes until Ross said, "We're here!" He opened the door and I got out. I felt the sun on my skin, which I wasn't used to, since it was below freezing in Philly. Ross took my bags out of the trunk and locked the car. We both walked up the pathway, until we arrived at the door. I knocked three times and Stormie answered the door.

"Daniell! Welcome! Come in!" she exclaimes, hugging me. I walked inside and was surprised to find it was a pretty normal house, albeit it housed two adults and five kids, with Ratliff visiting sometimes. Rocky was sitting on the couch, writing something. He jumped up when he saw me, enveloping me in a tight hug.

"Dani!" he smiled.

"Rocky!" I smiled back.

"Hey, don't think you can hog her all to yourself, Roc." a female voice said. She hopped down the stairs.

"Hi! I'm Rydel. You can call me Del or Delly. I've been dying to meet you!" she squeezed me. Someone else came down the stairs.

"You must be Danielle. Nice to meet you." Ryland said, holding out his hand. I shook it.

"Nice to meet you, Ry." I smiled at him. He blushed. Rydel laughed.

"I think that's everyone." Ross said, coming into the living room.

"You forgot me." a voice said from behind me. I spun around and looked up into deep brown eyes.

"I'm Riker." he said.

"I-I'm D-Danielle, but y-you can c-call me D-Dani." I stuttered, mentally slapping myself. I blushed. I had a huge-mongous crush on Riker and Ross, but for some reason Riker made me nervous. Rydel pat my head.

"So, where am I going to sleep?" I asked, turning to face Ross. He grinned.

"Follow me." he siad, mysteriously. I rolled my eyes and followed him up the stairs. He led me to the end of the haal, pushing open the door. It was a nicely decorated room, with a queen sized bed in the corner, a TV and a dresser. There was a closet and even though it was small, it was perfect.

"Feel free to decorate the room any way you want. We hardly use this room." Ross said, placing my bags on the bed. I went over to Ross and hugged him.

"It's perfect, Ro. I love it." He smiled at me. I let him go.

"I'll let you get settled. I'll be in my room. It's got a yellow door and 'Ross' on it." he said, running a hand through his hair.

"Thanks. I'll see you later then." I said. Ross nodded and closed the door as he left. I openedup my bags and tucked all my clothes in the dresser. I placed the tree stuffed animals I had packed on the bed and the books on the dresser. Then I took out my stack of teen magazines, scissors and tape and plopped down onto the floor, cutting out pivtures of One Direction, Taylor Swift and Demi Lovato. Finally, I found a mega poster of Ross. I grinned and taped it above my bed. I cleaned up and left my room looking for the yellow door. I came to it and knocked.

"Delly, I told you to- oh hi, Amy." Ross said, holding a huge bag full of different brands of candy. My eyes widened.

"Do you want some?" Ross asked, holding out the bag. I grinned at him and took the bag, holding it behind my back. Ross looked shocked, then he smiled.

"Where are you going to run? Certainly not your room. The door doesn't close properly. Ross said, as if he won.

"Rocky!" I exclaimed as I took off down the hallway. The green door labeled "Rocky" opened ans I was pulled into Rocky's room. He embraced me and I felt relieved that he was in his room.

"What's wrong?" he asked, looking me in the eyes. I showed him the huge candy bag I had stolen from Ross. He looked up at me in surprise.

"You found Ross' hidden candy stash! How?" Rocky asked.

"Well, Rockstar, I didn't find it. Ross found it for me."I grinned Rocky locked his door and plopped down onto his bed. He pat the spot next to him and I sat down. We began eating the candy like there was no tomorrow. I jumped when someone banged on the door.

"Amy! I know you're in there! Give me my candy back!" Ross yelled.

"No!" I yelled back. Ross kept banging.

"Okay. Okay. Hold your horses." I said and Ross silenced. Rocky looked sadly at me and grabbed two Hershey's bars and laid back on his bed. I unlocked the door and opened it. Ross pulled me out into the hallway and snatched the bag from my hands. He grabbed my hand and I blushed. Ross pulled me into his room and locked the door.

"Holy crap! The bags half empty!" Ross whined. I rolled my eyes.

"Well, I was eating it with Rocky." I said, looking around the room. It was untidy, but not uncomfortably so.

"So... Ross I need to know. Are you dating Laura?" I smirked. Ross nearly choked on the candy bar he was eating.

"Definitely not!" he exclaimed. I raised my eyebrow.

"I mean I had a crush on her when Austin and Ally started but I'm over it." Ross said, turning away from me.

"Oh Ross!" I sing-songed. He turned to face me again.

"Let's go downstairs." I suggested. He nodded.

"You go ahead. I'm going to hide my candy." Ross said, shoving the last bit of the candy bar in his mouth. I unlocked his door and opened it, walking straight into Rocky.

"Oh hey, Dani. I was just heading downstairs. We're going to play RockBand." he said.

"Funny. I was just heading downstairs. Let's go together!" I exclaimed. Rocky grinned. I looped his arm with mine and we headed downstairs. Ratliff was setting up the drums and Riker was absentmindily strumming the guitar. He glanced up at me and smiled. I blushed. Rydel came into the living room and plopped down next to Riker. She jumped up again when she noticed Ratliff. Rydel took my hand and dragged me over to him.

"Dani, this is Ratliff. Ratliff, this is Danielle." Rydel introduced me. Ratliff finished setting up the drums, then shook my hand.

"So you're the Danielle or 'Amy Pond' Ross has been telling me about." Ratliff said. I blushed. Rydel laughed. I felt like they weren't telling me something. Ryland came in and sat down on the armchair. Ross ran downstairs, his hair an untidy mess like he had just woken up. He collapsed onto the last available seat, Ratlidd sitting on a chair he brought (I think) from the dining room. I looked around for somewhere to sit. I couldn't even sit on the floor, for Ratliff's drums were taking up most of the area.

"Come here, Pond." Ross said, patting his lap. I blushed. I seemed to be doing that a lot lately. I walked over to him, sitting on his lap. He smiled at me.

"You look so cute when you blush." he whispered in my ear. This caused me to blush even harder. Ross picked up the mic and they started the game. I laughed inwardly. Disney Channel RockBand. Typical. Ross sang the "Good Luck Charlie" theme song, then he poked me in the side.

"Sing a song, Pond." he said. I shook my head.

"I'm not very good." I said, looking down at my hands.

"Oh c'mon Dani! You have to! It'll be fun!" Rocky said, giving me the most adorable puppy dog face ever.

"Fine." I relented. Everyone clappws. I think Riker clapped the hardest. I took the mic from Ross and chose "Better Togther" from Austin and Ally. I opened my mouth and began to sing.

"/Hey (Hey), I will always stay by your side forever/ 'cause we're better together.
Hey there’s no other way we'll make it through whatever we're better together." I finished the song and handed the mic back to Ross. He smiled at me. I wiped the sweat off of my forehead with the back of my hand. Ross kept poking me in my sides.

"Dinner!" Stormie called from the dining room. Everyone jumped up, running into the room, sitting down in seats. I ended up sitting between Ross and Rocky. Before me on the table was lemon pepper chicken, masked potatoes, green beans and for dessert, apple pie. I licked my lips. It all looked so good. I waited until Ross began piling food into his plate. I took two pieces of chicken, a heap of mashed potatoes with a slab of butter and a pinch of salt and a spoonful of green beans.

"So, what did you do today, Danielle?" Mark asked.

"Well, Ross showed me my room, then I stole his candy stash and shared it with Rocky, and then I played RockBand with Riker, Ros and Ratliff." I told him.

"How did you manage to steal Ross' candy bag? Even I don't know where it is." Stormie said, a laugh playing on her lips.

"I just knocked on his door and I saw it and he offered me some, so I took it and hid in Rocky's room." I smiled.

"Sounds like you had fun." Stormie said, standing up and clearing her place.

"I did."

After dinner, Mark and Stormie went to bed and we took our places, me on Ross' lap again.

"Hey, Rory?"

"Hmm?" Ross mumbled, giving me a sense of deja vu.

"Wanna sing a duet?" I poked him in the ribs. He smiled and nodded. Riker claimed he was tired so he disconnected and Ross hooked up another mic.

"What song should we sing?" Ross questioned. I whispered into his ear. We selected the song and sat back down.

"/We've got mistletoe and firelight on this cold December night./ The snow outside will set the mood as I sing, my song, for you." Ross and I finished the song, grinning goofily at each other.

"Wow." Ross was breathless.

"Our voices sound good together. Maybe they'll let me on Austin and Ally." I joked. Ross blushed.

"Maybe I'll give them a call." Ross said. He stretched out his arms and placed one around my waist. I felt very self conscious at that moment. I wasn't skinny and was often made fun of because of my weight. It was 9:00pm and everyone was heading to bed. Ratliff packed away the drums and turned off the console.

"Goodnight, you two." Ratliff said, winking at me.

"Goodnight." Ross and I said together. I pulled myself off of Ross' lap and into the seat next to him.

"Did you... did you have fun today?" Ross asked, adjusting himself so I was leaning on him.

"Yeah, I really did." I said, feeling nervous butterflies in my stomach.

"Good, good. Amy? When's your birthday?" Ross questioned.

"Not telling. But I'll give you a hint. It hasn't passed yet and it is in December." I told him. Ross moved his arm to my hair.

"I'll guess tomorrow." Ross said, looking at me.

"Were you serious about getting me on Austin and Ally?"

"Totally. You've got a greta voice and if you can act as well as you can sing, well... Disney would be enthralled." Ross said, poking my cheek.

"Don't worry. I've been in plays before." I said. All of a sudden, I felt sleepy.

"Mmm?" Ross murmered.

"I'm just gonna go close my eyes for a little bit, okay?" I mumbled sleepily. Ross laughed.

"Goodnight, Pond." I heard him say before I drifted off to sleep.

*I made up Disney Channel RockBand. I wish it was real though. Also, I don't know if Ross watches and likes Doctor Who, but just for this story let's say he does.*
