Chapter 1

The Girly Boy

I sighed in content as I gazed out towards the sunset. The sky was a pretty pink mixed with purple and orange from the glow of the sun. A soft wind blew, causing me to wrap my arms around myself.

"You cold?" A voice asked from behind. I felt my heart tingle as I turned around. A tall dark haired boy stood before me with a gentle smile oh his face. His blue eyes never left mine as he approached me. Once he was near enough, he took off his jacket and wrapped it around me. "Is that better?" I looked up at him and nodded, blushing as I did so. He smiled down at me and we both looked at the setting sun together. After a few moments I felt his arms around me, his face so close to mine. I felt my heart beating faster and faster as he gently nuzzled my neck. He put his lips to my ear...and said four words that made my heart melt. "Aiko...I love you..."

A loud beeping sound caused my eyes to open and I went back to reality. I groaned as my mind wondered why the dream had to end. I looked over to my alarm clock on a desk near the bed. "Damn you.." I muttered and glared before slamming my hand down on the snooze button. It was 6:30 and time to get up unfortunately. I yawned and stretched my arms out before getting out of my bed and walking to the mirror. A pair of purple eyes stared back at me, with a tired look to them. I yawned again as I ran my hand through my long pink hair. I liked having long hair, in fact my hair was so long it reached a little bit past my waist. This caused people to believe I was a girl. I didn't mind so much, though this attracted a lot of attention. Not just from guys, but also from other girls. You see, because of my girly apperance, I got a lot of attention from guys which also caused other girls to get really jealous. I was also short, standing a little above 5 feet. Which I guess guys thought was a cute thing. It didn't matter to me though, I kinda like being short. Though, the guys that I attracted weren't really..well, my type. What I wouldn't give to meet my "Mr. Right" my "Knight in Shining Armor". I stretched again for a couple of seconds before heading to the bathroom to take a shower.

I took my shower and dried myself off quickly, as it was getting late. I headed over to my closet to get out my school uniform. A white polo, navy blue tie, and a black skirt and stockings. Did I mention I like to crossdress? Another reason why people think I'm a girl. I put on my polo and the rest of my uniform on and went downstairs. It was silent, which meant that my parents already left for work. They were always so busy. Don't get me wrong, they weren't bad parents. I'm adopted, I was abandoned as a baby and raised in an orphange. The people there named me Aiko, which I believe means "love child". I guess they named me that because I really lovable. Then came the day when I got adopted. I was 6 at the time. They were so nice. Plus, they let me keep name, which I was really thankful for. Anyway, I was hoping for some eggs today but I guess I'm eating cereal.

By the time I had finished my breakfast, it was already 7:15, I decided I should leave the house now if I wanted to go to school on time. School was about 4 blocks away from where I lived. I finished my cereal, grabbed my phone and backpack, and headed out the door.

Satisfied the door was locked, I began my journey to school. It was a cold and cloudy day, which I loved. The sky was a nice shade of gray, not one trace of blue. Smiling to myself, I took out my Ipod and listened to some Vocaloid.

I was about half way to school when I saw a group of guys hanging around the entrance to a store nearby. I clenched my fists and prayed they wouldn't notice me. If I wanted to get to school I had to pass them, which I did not want to do. Unfortunately, one of them saw me walking towards them and whispered something to a guy on his left. The guy on his left turned his head and smirked, I saw his eyes linger on my body and I shuddered. Pervert. I picked up my pace, hoping to get it over with quickly. As soon As I was near enough, I kept my head down, trying my best not to pay attention them. Some of them wolf whistled, some said hi. I could feel their eyes on me, making my face all hot and sweaty. The word pervert kept repeating itself in my head. I didn't lift my head up once. As soon as I was a good distance away from them I breathed a sigh of relief. Phew!

School was just up ahead. I could see the words "Wheelstone Academy" in bright blue. I was nearly there! Suddenly I felt like I was being followed. It must be my imagination, I tried to reassure myself but I still felt uneasy. I became aware of footsteps that were not my own. Oh no! Were the guys from before following me? My face started to get sweaty again. Should I turn around? Call the police? I'm gonna get assaulted! I wasn't sure about the possibility of that last one but hey you never know. Maybe I was just being paranoid but I could of sworn those footsteps were coming nearer. That's it, I'll turn around and threaten to call the police. I took a deep breath before turning around, cellphone in hand.

"Alright! I swear, if you don't stop following me I'll...." I stopped. Standing before me was not some thug, it was a regular boy with a confused expression on his face. "Umm...are you..talking to me?" The boy asked me. "Err..." I felt like a complete fool. "S-sorry, I thought you were someone else..ehehe.." I scratched my head in embarassment. I took a moment to study him. He was really tall, probably around six feet. He had short, blonde hair that glowed in the sunlight, making him look like he had a halo on his head. His eyes were an icy blue, they studied me as well.

"Hey.." He paused a bit. "You don't by any chance..go to Wheelstone Academy do you?" I looked at him with a confused look, how could he know that? "Umm yeah, why?" His icy blue eyes lit up immediately. "Well, that's were I'm going." He pointed to his shirt. It was then I realized he was wearing the school uniform (the boy's one) it had the school logo on it. "Oh are you a new student?" He nodded at me and I smiled. "Cool, I'm Aiko. How about we walk to school together?" I didn't intend for that last part to come out but it was too late.

"Sure, I'm Josh Hadden by the way." He smiled at me again. I felt my cheeks heat up and quickly turned away. "Er...uh..well let's go then." As we walked down the sidewalk together, I noticed him stealing glances at me from time to time. He would turn away whenever I caught him. The awkward atmosphere was getting to me. I hoped we didn't have far to walk.

Josh glanced at Aiko again. His eyes watching as the pink hair swished and swayed with Aiko's movements. The black skirt flowing in the wind. The way those purple eyes would look at him with such innocence and shyness. Wow..she's really cute. Josh said in his mind. I wonder...if she'll be my girlfriend?
