Seek out the huntress (A Percy Jackson fanfic)

This is a story about Skylar Lunasa or Sky for short.
She is a huntress but she's only a teenager- she obviously falls for a boy and shows she is not as loyal to Artemis as she thought she was.

Warning: This story is not going by the books exactly, so please don't lose patience or correct me. You've been warned before hand. :)

Chapter 3

Camp Half-Blood.

I hated this. Boys being near us. Especially Percy who was the most annoying half-blood ever. Because I was a hunter I came across many half-bloods, but none of which I wanted to drive a spear through.
Nico and Bianca were taking into Artemis' camp to have a word. I knew what it was about. To tell Nico that his sister was leaving him to become one of us. I wouldn't be surprised.
It felt like hours later when Zoe came out angrily from the tent.
"Pack up, we are going to camp half blood," she told us. My eyes grew in amazement. Although I would rather stay in a tent, I have always wanted to meet Chiron who was a centaur. He was son of Kronos, but such a wise man. His wisdom could be a great deal to us hunters of Artemis.
"Skylar, watch over the boy," Artemis told me sternly. I sighed and wandered to the back of the group where Nico was looking around absent minded. He didn't seem to care that the monticore was about to kill him an that his sister wanted to be one of us.
"You okay, boy?" I asked him.
"My name's Nico," he told me.
"Fine. Are you okay, N- Nico," I said sighing. It had been way too long since I've talked to a boy. I was nervous about doing so, and I knew my face had gone red. Luckily for me, it was still dark out as we headed for camp half-blood.
"I'm confused," he told me. "But I think I'm okay."
"Why are you- do you have any questions?" I asked him feelin silly because I wondered why he was confused. He must be as confused as I felt when Artemis asked me to join her.
"What are the gods and goddesses like?" he asked me.
"Well, we all have a person we're not too fond of," I told him. "The war god is whom I'm not to fond of. Even though he is a boy, I rater like Apollo. He is kind to us even if he isn't the nicest to his sister. But, I rather like the gods and goddesses."
"Uh, okay," he muttered. "The war god.. That's Ares?"
I glared at him when he spoke his name. I felt a chill go down my spine as I did when someone speaks of the kindly ones. "What have I told you about names, boy- Nico? Don't just throw them around as though they're nothing!"
"Sorry!" he apologised.
"Heracles shines brightly tonight," I said gazing up at the constellations.
"Which one is that?" Nico asked.
And it was like that the whole way to camp. He would ask me questions and I would answer. He seemed to avoid anything about his sister. I didn't blame though for being upset. But Bianca wanted to do her own thing, and that too was understandable.

It was still dark when we reached camp. Chiron, the camp leader, and Dionysus the camp director seemed to of expected us. They stood by the line three that held the golden fleece on one of its branches.
The golden fleece was a powerful object. It could heal anyone or anything. It brought a paradise beauty to any surrounding land. It was very powerful. I could feel the nature and power when I was at the bottom of the hill.
"What's that!?" Nico exclaimed pointing to the Fleece.
"That, Nico, is the golden fleece," I told him. "Your friend Percy and Grover here took it back from Polyphemus, the Cyclops last summer." Nico looked at Percy and Grover in amazement. Percy was a little red as was Grover.
"We had help from my brother Tyson and.. Annabeth," he said with sadness in his voice. I frowned.
"I don't think that she is dead," I said with doubt heard by myself. He gave a small smile which I had to force in return to him.
"We shall set up camp over by the cabins," Artemis told us. We bowed to her and turned to set up camp. Olivia, one of the other hunters came over to help me with a tent. But she wanted to talk to me.
"What are you doing?" she hissed to me.
I gave a questioning look in her direction. "Uh, setting up the tent?"
"No, not now," she snarled. "Stop talking to that boy, Skylar. We are forbidden to talk to a boy as much as you have. Goddess of the Hunt will have you changed into some creature or worse, Skylar, she will kill you!"
"We were only talking," I said.
"Well, you better hope that is what she thinks it is. You took the oath, Skylar. It's basically a swear on the river Lynx."
I shivered. A swear on the river Lynx was the biggest swear you could make. "Look, thanks for your concern, Olivia, but I was only talking to him. I have not fallen for him, therefore I have not broken the oath!"
"Fine." she snapped angrily before fixing the tent.

But that night, my stomach was in knots. I barley knew this boy, but he was good company. I didn't mind him, but that didn't mean anything. He could be a friend.
Stop it, Skylar! I snapped at myself. You took the oath. It is forbidden! You shall never talk to this boy again! I swore to myself.
But, why did I feel guilty. Like I had just told a secret to everybody, guilty. I think I was breaking my oath- but I would stay quiet. That's all I could do. Why me? I barely knew the boy!
Stupid boys! I thought before closing my eye and finally falling asleep.

Blah. Okay, after this it is not going by the books. The book line will be involved, but nothing like it- if that makes sense? COMMENT PLEASE!?
