Scars of a Rune (A Mortal Instruments Fanfiction)
Written by me (StaceyCasey), Fab4Forever, and GreenDragonGirl.
When the Inquisitor goes missing in LA the Clave sends some Shadow Hunters from Nevada to investigate, and shadow hunter Danielle finds more than she was expecting in California.
Addison Westchester POV
"/Great/," I rolled my eyes and continued painting. I knew the visitors were coming, and that they were Shadowhunters, but I didn't know why. and I could really care less.
The LA Institute for Shadowhunters is where I lived with Tracey (who was my twin sister), Aven (my best friend), Kyle (the guy nobody really liked), and Patricia and John. They ran the Institute, often flying to New York and Las Vegas to meet with the other Institute runners.
"Aren't you excited, Addi? We haven't had anyone, not even a Downworlder, in ages!" Tracey and I were complete opposites. Sure, we were identical twins and all, but had 100% different personalities. We both annoyed the shit outta each other sometimes but we still would die for the other; that was probably the only thing we had in common.
"Yeah, sure, whatever," I said, focusing on my painting. I was painting a sword stabbing into a heart that was on fire, and I was carefully outlining in black. Just then the Institute doorbell rang and Tracey screamed, making my hand spasm and paint a huge black line over my painting.
"They're here!" she said gleefully and bounded out of my room. I scowled at the dark line running across the canvas and stood.
"Addison Westchester, you get down here and greet our guests," yelled Patricia up the long staircase leading downstairs. I rolled my eyes and slipped on my black comabt boots before stomping downstairs. People were the last thing I wanted here.
When I got downstairs, I saw a girl with curly brown hair and a good-looking guy standing in the doorway. They were loaded with their suitcases and had Runes drawn all over their bodies. They both looked awkward and nervous.
"Addison, please show the guests their rooms," Patricia instructed lightly. "'Take their bags too."
Sighing heavily I picked up the guy's bag and hoisted it onto my shoulder. Tracey grinned wildly and introduced herself. "I'm Tracey, how are you? What are your names?"
"Uh... I'm Danielle," the girl said, shying away from Tracey.
"My name's Ricky," the guy who's suitcases I was carrying said, and I started walking up the stairs.
After setting his ginormous suitcase in his large bedroom I went back downstairs. Everyone was gathered at the table and Danielle was brushing her curly brown hair. Patricia looked nervous as I came and sat down, Ricky following close behind.
"Why are they here?" I asked pointedly, getting straight to the point. Danielle looked slightly offended but I didn't really care.
"Well, um... it's kind of complicated..." Patricia answered, fiddling with her long silvery hair. She was extremely tall, skinny, and had glowing blue eyes. Her hair was a silvery-white and her skin was very pale. She was amazingly strong though.
"Just spit it out already," I rolled my eyes and Aven grinned.
"Well.... the, um.... the Inquistor's gone missing."
