That Certain Blond Slytherin (A Draco Malfoy Love Story)
Hey everyone! I decided to redo my Draco Malfoy LS, so if you favorited the old one, I suggest you go delete it from your favorites and add this one instead! ;D
Name: Briar Dawson
Looks: Tall (shorter than Draco ;D), grey/green eyes, wavy black hair that goes to chest
Personality: A bit fiery, has a short temper. Likes few things. Really open and wild around close friends, has a great sense of humor
"Ah, Mrs. Dawson!" a pale woman answered the door, a glee smile on her face while she reached out for a hug. Mom accepted it with a laugh. Ugh, seeing Mom this happy sickened me. I can't believe she was happy after Dad died only a few months ago... "You must be Briar." The woman turned to me. She looked oddly familiar... "I'm Narcissa Malfoy." Yes! Narcissa, Draco's mother! I remembered her. But just barely.
"Pleasure to meet you, Mrs. Mal—" she cut me off.
"Please, call me Narcissa!" she cried, smiling as she gestured me inside.
"If you insist, Narcissa..." My breath was taken away by the beautiful sight. A gigantic chandelier hung from the spacey ceiling, and candles hovered above us, sparkling. This was definitely a party for the rich. Everyone was wearing either a tuxedo, or an overly-expensive dress. The sound of glasses clinging and laughter told me at least half of the people here will go home drunk.
"I'm so glad I got to finally meet you!" she said, "I've heard a lot about you from your mother."
"Of course you did, my mother tends to ramble," weren't the words that I said, because instead they came out as: "Oh, really? Then I suppose she has told you how much of a nuisance I am?" I joked.
Narcissa laughed. "No, no! She said you were a very mature, young lady, and you looked almost identical to your father... and she's right—your father and I went to school together. Actually, we all did." So that's how Mom knew the Malfoys... I wonder why she never told me... "I presume you know my son?"
"Draco? Oh, yes," I said politely, struggling not to sneer his name. I hated Draco Malfoy. A lot.
"Why don't you go talk to him? He's right over there," she pointed in the direction of a staircase, and sure enough, staring at nothing, was Draco. He had a glass in his hand. "It was nice to you meet, by the way!" she hurried off to answer the door. I sighed, feeling the embarrassment creep at my skin. Mother made me wear this extremely tight (that gripped my every curve) dress that I hated. It showed too much cleavage... I don't even know why I came to this Celebration Feast thing... what are they even celebrating?
I made my over to Draco gracefully, looking around as I went; there was no way I was going to look him in the eye... not yet. His eyes slowly shifted to me, then the dropped down to my feet, then back up. Eww.
"Hello," he said a little too formally.
"Malfoy," I sneered.
He narrowed his eyes. "... So you're the daughter of Olivia..."
"Yeah, what about it?"
"You look a lot like your father..."
"You don't even know him."
"I'm not uneducated, Briar. When you and I used to play together, he'd always teach us about plants." Wait... I used to play with Draco? I don't remember any of that... "I guess that's where you got your name."
"Shut up, Draco. Just shut up."
He glared at me. "You know, you should treat your superior with a little more respect."
"My superior? Oh, very funny, Malfoy. As far as I can tell, you aren't the only wealthy family here."
"Wealth has nothing to do with it. It's the bloodline, Dawson. Purebloods are better," he looked me in the eye, "and always will be." Many curse words crossed my mind, but before I could even open my mouth, a voice caused me to jump slightly.
"Briar Dawson, is it?" It was a man, and out of the corner of my eye I saw the man looked a lot like Draco. I nodded. "I am Draco's father, Lucius. It's delightful to meet you."
"Likewise," I forced a smile. No one said anything, and I assumed Lucius could sense the tension.
"Draco, don't be rude. Ask the young lady to dance," Lucius commanded, his stare resting on his child. Oh, thanks Lucius. Just what I wanted. After that, Lucius turned heel and strut off.
"Well, you heard your father," I couldn't help but smirk. Draco's eyes burned as he held out his hand.
"May I have this dance?" he asked with obvious loath. I smiled innocently.
"Very well," he took my hand, and led me out to where a few couples were dancing. The music soft and slow, with a romantic rhythm to it. Draco snapped me from my thoughts when he placed his hand on my waist, and grabbed my hand. I placed my hand on his shoulder, like I learned at a young age. We danced slowly, glaring at each other.
"You're enjoying this, aren't you?" I snarled, accusing him.
"Actually, yes. Watching you with a glare on your face is very entertaining, especially when you can't do it right."
"Shut up," was my only comeback. I wasn't really expecting to see Draco here, but it should be pretty certain, since I am at his house.
"You're not good at comebacks, either." Suddenly, he pulled my hips forward, crushing my body against his. "Look, let's just try to be nice to each other, just for tonight, okay? My father will be disappointed in me if I'm rude... especially to a girl," he whispered in my ear.
"Oh, shove off Daddy's Boy," I remarked, pulling back. His grey eyes bore into mine. But there was something else in them... he almost looked... sad, or upset. I sighed. "Fine. Only because I don't want to disappoint my mother either." He smirked.
"So... haven't you heard the news?"
"We're engaged." I swear that was the moment my heart stopped beating, the world spun, and I couldn't breathe.
"You heard me. We're getting married."
"What?! Why?!" I was speaking so loudly, people stopped dancing to stare. Draco dragged me out of the spotlight and into an abandoned room. He closed the door the tightly.
"I don't know. I overheard my father and mother talking about it." This couldn't be happening... this can't happen... me, marry Draco Malfoy?!
Eh, I know not very original, but I promise, it won't be one of those stories where the character falls in love with Draco after she sees 'another side' of him. Those bore me. Vixen's got a good trick up her sleeve, okay? && Btw, this is your New Year's present (little late, Vix?). Thanks for reading, and comment, rate && favorite!
