Marie Raven, also known as Mimi, is now a student at the boarding school, Nightingale Academy. On her first day, everyone stares at her and gives her dirty looks. Why? She has no idea. He roommate, Lilith (known as Lily) is the first person to be nice to her since she got there. After that, she starts to believe that maybe this school isn't so bad. That is, before she gets kidnapped by the three hottest guys in school. What is this schools secret?
It’s my first day at this new school and all I know is that I have pick up my schedule at the office and then head to my dorm.
Anyway, reaching the office door, people start to ignore me again and head back to their own business.
This school is getting weirder and weirder by the second. I think to myself, opening the door and heading to the counter.
The lady at the front desk stood up and peered over at me.
“What are you here for?†she asked rudely.
“Um, I’m here to pick up my schedule and dorm number. My name is Marie Raven and its my first day today.†I said hesitantly. Weren’t the people at the front desk supposed to be nice?
“Are you sure you don’t have to wrong school Hun?†she asked, walking over to stand in front of me.
“Yeah, Nightingale Academy right?â€
She nodded and then sighed deeply. She handed me my schedule and room number silently before going back to sick behind the desk.
OK then… I thought to myself, then headed to find my dorm.
The Academy was split into 3 parts. The boys dorms, the main school, and the girls dorms. Each were about 100 yards away from each other.
Searching the hallways, I finally found my dorm and opened the door.
“Hello?†I called. “Um, I’m your new roommate, Marie. Most people just call me Mimi though.â€
“Oh, hello. I’m Lilith†I heard a voice call from the closet on the left side of the room.
“May I ask why you are in a closet?†I asked. Seriously, why is she in a closet??
“Oh, sorry! The light comes in really hard in this room so you have to be careful. I just haven’t taken my-“ She cut off her sentence with a gasp as she stepped out of the closet. Why does everyone look so surprised to see me in this school?
“You’re…†She trailed off breathlessly.
“I’m Mimi. We already went over this. Are you like sensitive to the light or something?â€
“Um, well it was nice to meet you. I’ll be back in a minute, wait here for a sec.â€
“Uh, ok.†I said, sitting on the other bed. I heard whispered voices from the bathroom but only caught a few words. Human…wrong…supposed to do?
She came out again with a bright smile on her face.
“Want me to show you around a bit?†She asked cheerfully. Major mood change, this girl was starting to freak me out a bit. No, a lot.
I just nodded and let myself be led throughout the hallways and out of the girls dorms.
“This is the main courtyard.†She said as we approached a field/garden in front of the main school.
Lots of kids were there, talking, reading, just hanging out. Most stopped and stared as we walked by but I just tried to ignore it.
“Why in the world is everyone staring at me?†I asked her, trying to keep my voice as calm as possible.
“Um, no I have no idea.â€
Totally not believing that…
“Oh look, it’s the guys! Here, I’ll introduce you to them.â€
I looked over at where she was walking and saw multiple people. 3 guys and 2 girls. They were sitting on and around a bench in the middle of the courtyard, talking.
“Hey guys!†Lily yelled, waving at them and pushing me in their direction.
“This is Mimi. She’s my new roommate.â€
Yes, I got more stares but they didn’t seem to be as… cold as the others I had gotten before.
“Hi.†I said, waving.
They waved back and made room for me and Lily on the bench.
I introduced myself and we talked a bit but it was sort of hard when you were stared at the whole time by the whole student body.
There were these three guys who were standing by a tree, just glaring at me. It wasn’t even staring! It was just a hard, cold glare the whole time! These people really need to learn some manners. Didn’t they ever learn that it wasn’t nice to stare at people!
The rest of the day actually went by pretty quickly. I got used to the stares and they actually had started to stop around 4th period. It wasn’t until I was walking back to the dorms late a night that anything interesting happened.
It was already past curfew so I was running back to the dorms when I ran into someone out of the blue. Like, I was looking where I was going and there was no one there.
I looked up at the person and was surprised to see it was one of the guys who was glaring at me earlier.
“Sorry!†I said quickly and tried to run away again but he grabbed my wrist and pulled me back in front of him.
He gripped my chin and pulled my head up so I had no choice but to look at his face.
He glared again and I glared back, then he let go. I tried to walk away again but he just pulled me back.
He really needs to stop doing this… I thought to myself annoyed
“Can you please let me go back to my dorm? It’s already past curfew and I really don’t want to get in trouble on my first day!†I said pleadingly, struggling against his grip.
I wasn’t answered with words, he just put a cloth over my mouth and nose and…I passed out.
Great first day!
