To think it all started with a prank... (A Fred Weasley love story)
I've always wanted to make one of these!!! :) he he. Let me know if you like the story, fair warning the main character isn't an innocent little girl with a crush. There will be dirty parts, sad and scary parts. You'll want to laugh, cry, and you'll be messaging me like WTF?!?!?! lol.
Chapter titles still suck.
"Just like in Diagon Alley, you haven't lost your touch." Fred smiled as I sat down next to him in my seat. The whole class was whispering and peering over their shoulders at me.
"Great way to start the year." I muttered as I banged my head against the desk. "First it's Tri-Wizard champion, and then becoming teacher's pet." Fred patted my shoulder.
"It's fine. After a few pranks, Moody'll hate you again and the whole thing will blow over." George smiled at me.
"I don't get why it's such a big deal, Alex." Cheri huffed. "I'm better in most subjects than you and even I can't produce a patronus charm."
"Yeah, yeah. Whatever."
"Does anyone else think they're up for the challenge?!" Moody roared. I was suprised when I saw Shane, a smirk plastered on his face stand up and strode to the front of the room.
"If Alex can do it, I can." he said confidently and drew his wand. "Expecto Patronum." he said and waved his wand, suprised when I found a puff of white smoke... but nothing more. His brow furrowed and his face reddened when an animal wasn't produced.
"Close. Again." Moody said in a gruff voice. Shane cleared his throat, a major look of concentration etched on his face.
"Expecto Patronum." he waved his wand and all that came was a wisp of white smoke. Shane growled.
"Good enough. Now, class remember this is a very complicated spell. I'm assigning partners, I want you to practice and perfect the spell with your partner." Moody said, and rummaged around on his desk until he found a bit of parchment and he cleared his throat.
"Weasley, Simmons." Moody yelled.
"Which one?" The twins chorused.
"That one." he pointed at Fred. Fred rolled his eyes and stood up, and went to a corner of the room with Charlie. And the list went on, George was paired with Angelina Johnson, Cheri paired with Lee, and I was paired with Shane. Cue shuddering.
"Where were you this morning?" Shane asked, once we found a spot in the room to practice the patronus charm.
"Couldn't sleep." I lied easily. "Hit the library last night for information."
"Oh that's right! Your the Tri-Wizard champion representing Hogwarts, and Potter." He trailed off. "How'd you think he got in?"
I shook my head. "M'not sure actually. I asked him, he didn't really say anything. Just rotten luck I suppose?"
"Must be." he sighed. "What was it like?"
"What was what like?" I asked, confused.
"Walking up and shaking Dumbledore's hand. Becoming the representor of Hogwarts." He smiled. What was this, like an interview?
I rubbed the back of my neck and exhaled slowly. "Like... It... it was a shocker. I definately wasn't prepared for it."
"Copis! Lupin!" Moody barked, making the both of us jump a little. "This isn't tea time! You can chat when your dead!" It took my all my effort to keep a straight face.
"Yes sir." I nodded, and flicked my wand. "Expecto Patronum." and my bear popped out again. Moody nodded once and surveyed Cheri's failed attempt at a patronus.
"How do you do that?!" Shane asked incredulously. "You make it look so easy!"
"You just need to think of a really happy memory, like the happiest memory you've got, and you say 'Expecto Patronum'. Like this." I said, and let my bear dissapear again. I cleared my throat and thought of Diagon Alley, when I first met Fred and George. I flicked my wand, "Expecto Patronum." And for the third time today, a white bear errupted from my wand.
Shane and I watched as it stomped around the room on all fours, it circled around George and Cheri, making them laugh and it sat down on the floor obediantly at Fred's feet.
"Your patronus likes Fred." Shane snorted.
"He's my best friend." I said quickly, and lost my concentration. The bear dissapeared. "You try." I nodded at Shane.
Shane scoffed, pulling his wand out. "I got this."
"Do you?" I asked teasingly, raising an eyebrow.
"/Yes/!" Shane growled, flustered. He focused hard, his brow furrowed slightly. He thought of the happiest memory that he had and waved his wand. "Expecto Patronum."
A swirl of white vapor, then a white tiger emerged from his wand, surprising everyone. Suddenly all attention in the room was on Shane, a surge of pride filling him.
I couldn't help but smile, Shane did it. "Wow."
The patronus didn't last longer than ten seconds, but it was better than a wisp of white smoke. "Yeah! That's how it's done!" Shane yelled, looking over at me challengingly.
I smirked slightly, "Is it now? Who taught you how to cast a patronus?"
Shane growled, getting up in my face. He spoke in a low growl, "Can't you let me have my moment? Your already the celebrity of the damn school, let someone else have a go."
I glared down at Shane, shoving him away. "Back off, Copis."
"If we weren't in class right now." Shane growled, leaning back against the wall. The whole class watched, silently hoping for a fight.
Cheri bit her lip. Please, please don't do anything stupid Alex...
