Ready To Go (A StarKid Story)

So this is just something that popped into my head one day when I was bored, I'm not sure whether or not I like it. Regardless, I hope you enjoy it. :)

Oh and obviously all rights go to Team Starkid. Don't know who they are? Go search A Very Potter Musical on Youtube, you won't regret it.

Chapter 1

Just Another Weekend

“All right, well that is it for today. Please remember to read chapter thirteen and have all the accompanying work done by the next time we meet,” said Professor Carey, as we began to pack up our things.

Finally, my last class of the week is over and I get to actually relax for a couple of days. That is, unless my roommate Christa has something planned for us. Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love her, but I swear that her parties will be the death of me. They were already legendary at Boston University and we are only just beginning our sophomore year, but they only get crazier and crazier. I love dancing and music as much as anyone, but these types of parties just weren’t my scene. However, she always manages to drag me to them, probably because she thinks that they would be good for me. I just wish I could make her see that I would much rather have quiet nights in our dorm. Maybe one day she will understand…

I finally got back to our dorm and am relieved to see that Christa doesn’t seem to be here. I quickly begin to search for a snack since I won’t be going for dinner for at least another two hours. After finding a suitable snack of a lunchable and a juice box, I go back to the living room to pick a movie to watch. As I place my food on the table, I notice a note as well as what seem to be random drawings. Picking up the note, I notice that it’s addressed to me from Christa.

“Elyse! Remember how I told you that my cousin was going to be visiting us for a couple of days?” Yeah, I think she said his name was Corey…or was it Kyle? “Well he arrived today and he agreed to help us decorate for tonight, isn’t that great?” Oh god, why can’t I have one quiet weekend. “He’s really good with that kind of stuff. Well anyways, we are going out to buy everything we need and we will probably be back for you around nine so you better be ready to go! Love you, Christa” Great, just what she needed, she found a way to make her parties even more elaborate. “P.S. You see these drawings? They are designs for some type of set for a musical or something. Corey is having trouble with the transitions and since you are majoring in Mechanical Engineering, I thought that maybe you would be able to help. You can make notes about whatever you think is necessary to change for them to work. Corey will really appreciate it!”

Well it’s not really what I had in mind, but who knows, this could turn out to be amusing. I begin to ruffle through the pages and see that there seem to be three basic sets that need to be quickly interchangeable. Well, this doesn’t seem too complicated…

After about 3 hours of pouring over the sheets, I put the last of my notes onto the page. There, I think that should do it. I begin to study them, searching for a name, I mean he has to have his name on here somewhere right? I wanted to add my name so he knows who made all of the notes. Aha! There it is, Corey Lubowich. Hmm, I wonder if it’s the same one that…no of course not what would he be doing here.

Thinking this possibility over, I notice that it’s almost 7:30. Well I guess I better get ready to go. I don’t want to deal with Christa if I’m not ready by the time she gets back. After my shower, I put on an olive green scoop-neck t-shirt, a tan vest, skinny jeans and my favorite pair of boots. As I begin to straighten my shoulder length brown hair, Corey’s name keeps popping up in my thoughts. No! I need to stop thinking about this. It is just a weird coincidence. There is absolutely no way that he would turn out to be the same Corey Lubowich that I’m thinking of right now. No, surely Christa would have mentioned it. I mean she knows how much I…No stop with those thoughts, he is just Christa’s cousin, nothing more, nothing less.

As nine o’clock rolls around I’m surprised that they are late, Christa usually always freaked out about being on time for everything. What if something happened to them? What if they are hurt? Or what if they are…Stop right there Elyse, there is no need to start having a panic attack. Now is not the time to deal with this. Almost as if she could read my mind, my phone started playing “I’ll Make a Man Out of You”, the ringtone the Christa had picked out for herself.

“Hi Elyse! I’m sorry that I’m late; I got caught up in making sure that the decorations are perfect and to be honest I’m still not done. Don’t worry though, I sent Corey to come get you. He should be there any minute now. Hopefully he didn’t get lost…” There’s a knocking on the door.

“Actually Christa, I think he may have just gotten here now, someone’s at the door so I’ll see you in fifteen minutes?” Another knock. “It’s open!”

“Great! Be sure that you look amazing; I mean I’m sure you do, but I forgot to tell you, Corey brought a friend with him. I think his name is Nick? Anyway from what I can gather it seems like you two would get along just fine, if you know what I mean.”

“Christa, for the last time I don’t need you to set me up with anyone. I’ll see you soon. Bye.”

“Whatever you say, bye!”

I will never understand the way her mind works. Oh right, Corey is in the other room. I should probably get going now. Walking into the room, I see a man with black hair, a medium build and average height looking over the designs that were resting on the table. “Are you Corey?” His head shot up at the sound of his name. He was moderately attractive, but not really my type. Wait a minute, I know that face. He really IS the same Corey that I was thinking of, Corey Lubowich…from Team Starkid.
