Chapter 1

Someone Like You - Adele

I heard that you're settled down
That you found a girl
And you're married now
I heard that your dreams came true
Guess she gave you things
I didn't give to you

She walks aimlessly through the streets, hearing the clock in the background chime 12 times. Alone on Christmas Eve, She thinks. Who can live like that?
She finds herself walking on Baker Street; the address of their old place. He still lives here. The girl peers through the windows of the small, cozy townhouses she passes, hoping, wishing someone, that someone would catch her eye and smile.

Old friend, why are you so shy?
It ain't like you to hold back
Or hide from the light
I hate to turn up out of the blue, uninvited
But I couldn't stay away
I couldn't fight it
I'd hoped you'd see my face
And that you'd be reminded
That for me, it isn't over

Potential conversations swims through her head as she contemplates, Should I go and say hi? Figures emerge through the windows of the house, one of a man, and one of a little child. A little boy, he has a little boy, She smiles a little, trying to hide the pain she feels inside. Another silhouette gracefully glides in with them, a woman. With her long, brown hair, perfect build and figure, no wonder he fell for her. Tears stream slowly down her face, reminiscing on the times she spent with him. The laughs, smiles, tears they shared, they were endless. Yet we still fell apart. She turns her back on the picture perfect scene and starts to walk. She can't take it anymore. Even though, you can't be mine, that's okay. I just hope I find someone like you.

Never mind I'll find
Someone like you
I wish nothing but the best for you, too
Don't forget me, I beg
I'll remember you said,
"Sometimes it lasts in love
But sometimes it hurts instead"

You'd know
How the time flies
Only yesterday
Was the time of our lives
We were born and raised
In a summer haze
Bound by the surprise
Of our glory days

I hate to turn up out of the blue, uninvited
But I couldn't stay away
I couldn't fight it
I'd hoped you'd see my face
And that you'd be reminded
That for me
It isn't over

Nothing compares
No worries, or cares
Regrets and mistakes
/They're memories made
Who would have known how bittersweet
This would taste

Never mind I'll find
Someone like you
I wish nothing but the best for you, too
Don't forget me, I beg
I remember you said,
"Sometimes it lasts in love
But sometimes it hurts instead"
