One Shots

Chapter 2

Never Coming Back | L One Shot

"You're late."

Her tanned arms folded firmly against her small chest. He was late, again.

His dull eyes looked down as if he was being scolded by his mother. Her turquoise eyes gave him a menacing glare.

What's the excuse theis time? She wandered.

"I was too busy working on small cases and forgot that my girlfriend and I were having a date night. I guess I just thought those cases were more important, Kio."

That sounded about right.

As she waited to here those words, something else caught her off guard.

"Sorry."

Never had she heard L say 'sorry' or 'thank you'. Her lips curved into a smile. She was changing L into a better person, and it all started when they first met.

With a satisfied grin, she forgave him.

"Just don't do it again. I hate it when you-"

He leaned in quickly, pressing his pale lips onto hers. "You already forgave me. you just keep talking so I would kiss you, no?"

Pretending to think, she loooked away from his pale face before turning back to him. "I should just talk my mouth off more often."

L's lips caught Kio's once more. "No need, I'll kiss you without the headache."

She smiled before he spoke.

"I love you."

"I love you."

"I miss you."

"Ahhhhh!" She screamed waking up from her deep sleep, her body covered in sweat. She sat up quickly, clutching the sides of her head.

"You're beautiful."

Tears brimmed in her eyes. She knew it was wrong, but she wanted to forget all the memories of her and L together.

She loved him.

On that same day she had found his lifeless body. She knew L was gone. She knew all her memories only gave her a small taste of heaven before vanishing.

Just like him.

One thing she knew but hurted to know, was the he was never comming back.
