Chapter 1

Prologue

There I stood, at the old stone steps of the stone church that had been there for God knows how long. I clutched a small gold wedding band from a boy I knew I loved, and a diamond ring from a man who could make my dreams. Dawn was approaching rapidly as it possibly could, and the same Beatles song stuck in my head.

"Little darlin', the smiles returning to the faces,
Little darlin', it seems like years since it's been here..
Here comes the sun, here comes the sun ...
and I say it's all right,"

But the thing is... I don't know if it's all right.
