Stay Away From Me ~Blaise Zabini~ Part 8

Three times. THREE TIMES! I wrote this chapter three times! And it just. Kept. Deleting. Well, enjoy!

Chapter 1

Sad News

"Aha! Unless I am very much mistaken, the delegation from Beauxbatons approaches!" Professor Dumbledore called out from the back row of our gathering.

The teachers had escorted us all outside for the moment the whole school had been waiting for - the arrival of Beauxbatons and Durmstrang. We were gathered on the front steps of the castle, arranged by houses then years, all staring toward where Dumbledore had pointed. I strained to see over Dean and Ron's tall shoulders.

Something large, much larger than a broomstick was hurtling across the sky toward the castle, growing larger and larger.

"It's a dragon!" a first year shrieked, but the assumption was quickly extinguished when the soaring object landed. A giant powder-blue horse drawn carriage, the size of a house, stood before us. After the headmistress, Madam Maxime, greeted Dumbledore, she and her pupils, about a dozen boys and girls, filed into the castle.

"The lake! Look at the lake!" Lee Jordan shouted, pointing down at it. Cursing my shortness, I jumped up only to catch a glimpse of a whirlpool, then the mast of a ship.

I listened to the sloshing noises, giving up on trying to see the lake. After a great while, a voice called out, "Dumbledore!" This time I could see where the attention was; the headmaster of Durmstrang, Igor Karkaroff, casually walked toward Dumbledore. "How are you, my dear old friend, how are you?" he asked. After exchanging greetings, Dumbledore lead all of the students into the hall.
"Krum, Harry! Viktor Krum! " Ron was saying.

"Who's Viktor Krum?" I asked. Harry and Ron both gave me unbelieving looks.
"He's only one of the best Seekers in the world!" Ron said, going all Quidditch-fan on me. I zoned out then, not really wanting to listen to sports stuffs (it's only fun to watch the game). We entered the Great Hall and quickly sat at the Gryffindor table.

"There." Ron said, pointing.

"What?" I asked, following to where he was pointing.

" That's Viktor Krum." Leaning against the door frame, looking for a place to sit, was a boy around seventeen, heavily built, with handsome features. He inclined his head toward me, flashed a smile, then walked towards the Slytherin table.

"Eh," I said, shrugging.

"'Eh'? Seriously? He's an international Quidditch player!" Ron exclaimed.

"Are you sure you're not in love with him, Ron?" I asked, laughing. "Besides, why do I need to ogle at sporty boys when I've got a boyfriend?"

Ron stopped trying to convince me to obsess over Krum after that. I glanced quickly over at the Slytherin table to see Blaise laughing with Krum. He spotted me and smiled, and Krum followed his gaze. They exchanged a few words, and Krum stood abruptly and left. I turned back to my meal, confused.

"Hey," Blaise said as he sat next to me.

"Hi." I smiled, closing my book. We were sitting at the edge of the Black Lake, relaxing after dinner. "What's wrong?" I asked when I noticed his sad expression.

He frowned, staring at the lake. "We um... We need to talk."

"So talk." I said, smiling.

"Okay..." he sighed, turning to face me. "This... can't continue." he finally said.

"What can't continue?" I asked, confused.

"Us." he said, holding up our grasped hands. "It's wrong."

I smiled, shaking my head. "I know you, Blaise. You're joking."

"I'm dead serious." he said, his frown growing.

"C'mon, quit messing around. Tell me what's really on your mind." I laughed.

"I'm not kidding, Arabella. It's wrong for me to be seen around you." he said quietly.

"Stop it. This isn't funny anymore." I said, panicking.

"I'm not trying to be funny. I'm breaking up with you." he said, louder now.

"No... No, you love me, Blaise. You wouldn't dump me." I squeaked. I tried to read his expression, but it was clouded and masked.

"I could never love a filthy blood traitor like you!" He shouted, jumping to his feet. "Goodbye." I watched him stalked off toward the castle, and my world came crashing down around me. I let my tears spill over, my shoulders shaking from sobs. I don't know how long I stayed there, but Hermione eventually found me and led me back to Gryffindor tower.

Blaise's POV

I walked off, hating myself. She looked so broken, all I wanted to do was run back to her, comfort her, tell her how stupid I was. I walked into the entrance hall, stopping when I heard steps echoing toward me. I turned, frowning when I saw Krum standing behind me.

"That girl... Arabella Vaters? She vas your girlfriend, yes?" he asked.

"Yes. What's it to you?" I asked, glaring at him.

"Just vondering. She seems... interesting. And cute." he murmured. "She is single now?"

"Yes." I growled.

He smiled, walking over to me. "I hope you don't mind... I plan on making her mine."

"Well get in line, Malfoy's already ahead of you!" I shouted, turning and walking to the dungeons.

Normal POV

"Belle, where did you find the passage on bulbadox juice?" Hermione asked.

"Page sixty four." I said without looking up from my paper. Harry, Ron, Hermione and I were relaxing on the lawn for what was probably one of the last warm days of the month.

"Excuse me, miss Vaters?" I heard. I turned, looking up at the smiling figure standing before me. "My name is Viktor Krum. Could ve speak for a moment?"

Sad chapter. But don't worry! It will all work out, I promise. Soooo... comment? Rate? Hope you liked it!
