Chapter 1

September passed by quickly. I still wasn't talking to Ron or Harry, but Blaise and I were better than ever. He asked me to go out with him for our first Hogsmeade trip of the year, saying that we needed and official first date. After getting dressed, I tied up my Converse High Tops(best shoes EVER!) and went down to the Entrance Hall to meet Blaise.

"Where to?" I asked when I found him. He took my hand in his.

"I was thinking the Three Broomsticks." He said as we walked out of the castle.

We talked most of the way to Hogsmeade, holding hands and laughing. When we entered the Three Broomsticks, I went for one of the tables Hermione and I normally sat at, but Blaise pulled me to Madam Rosmerta.

"Good morning, Blaise. Nice to see you here." She smiled at the two of us. "You must be Belle. Such a beautiful face you have. Will it be the usual table, hun?" She asked, grabbing two butterbeers from the bar.

"Yes, thank you." Blaise said. Madam Rosmerta lead us through one of the doors behind the bar. It opened up into a small room, the walls of which were covered in pictures of young couples and two girls, wearing Hogwarts robes. There was a little table and two chairs in front of a wall-length window over looking High Street.

"That's my husband and I." Madam Rosmerta said when she saw me looking at one of the photos. "He's in Albania now, business, you know." She smiled, put the butterbeers on the table and turned to Blaise and I. "Just tell me if you need anything, dears."

Blaise pulled a chair out for me, then seated himself.

"Do you like it?" He asked as I was admiring the room. I nodded. "Rosmerta made it special for her and my mum. They're really close." He pointed to one of the pictures of the two girls.

I recognized his mother immediately; I had seen her photo in the Prophet a couple times before for her wedding announcements.

"So is this were you take all of your dates?" I asked.

"No, you're the first girl I've brought here." He said, smiling. "Infact, you're my first girlfriend."

I choked on my butterbeer. Blaise jumped up and patted me on the back, handing me a napkin to wipe off my face.

"How am I your only girlfriend?" I finally managed once I was through coughing. Blaise sat back down.

Blaise thought for a moment. "I guess... you're the only girl who's ever caught my attention." I blushed, looking out the window. Hermione was dragging Ron and Harry into Scrivenshaft's Quill Shop. I felt my face fall.

"What's wrong?" Blaise asked, following my gaze. "Oh. Don't worry, Belle. They won't scare me off." He smiled.

"I know. Have you told your friends about us?" I asked.

"No, I'm letting them figure it out." He laughed. Then his face got serious. "Listen, Belle. I know we haven't been dating long, but I wanted to give you something." He reached in to his coat pocket, pulling out a small black box, placing it in my hand.

"What is it?" I asked, surprised.

"Just open it." He said. I obeyed. Looking inside, I gasped; the box held a diamond encrusted necklace in the shape of a heart. I lifted it up, admiring its beauty. Flipping it over, I read the message on the back: To my sweetheart, I will always love you.

"My dad gave that to my mum when they got married." Blaise said, pointing at one of the pictures on the wall. It showed a young man that looked like and older version of Blaise, and Blaise's mother. The same necklace hung around her neck. "After I told her about you, Mum thought you should have it. Do you like it?" He asked when I didn't respond.

"I love it!" I said, jumping up and leaping into Blaise's arms. He wrapped his arms around my waist, pulling me on to his lap.

"I love you." He said after a while. I looked up at him in shock. "Oh god. I shouldn't have said that, we've only been dating a month, I-" I cut him off with a kiss. Wrapping my arms around his neck, I pressed my lips to his. He immediately tightened his grip on my waist.

"I love you, too." I said after we broke apart.

"Really?" He blurted. I laughed.

"Yeah. Here, help me put this on." I said, handing him the necklace. "How does it look?" I asked after he put it on.

"Beautiful." He said. I realized he was looking at my face rather than the necklace.

"C'mon." I said, pulling him up with me.

"Where are we going?" He asked as we stepped out onto High Street.

"I need to refresh my candy supply." I said, pointing towards Honeydukes.

"Are you satisfied now that you've exhausted your savings?"

I looked at all of my purchases. Three large bags full of candy from Honeydukes Sweetshop, a few precious prank items from Zonko's Joke Shop, and new robes from Gladrags Wizardwear.

"I could've gotten more stuff if someone hadn't pulled me away." I laughed. Blaise and I were sitting on a hill over looking High Street. I was sitting in between his legs, leaning on his chest. He had his arms wrapped around my waist.

"You think it's about time to head back?" Blaise asked.

"No, no... I'm perfectly comfortable." I said, placing my arms over Blaise's.

"As much as I want to stay here as well, it looks like it's about to rain." He said. I looked at the sky. Sure enough, dark clouds were forming.

"Alright." I sighed, standing up. Chuckling, Blaise stood next to me.

By the time we made our way back to High Street, it was pouring. We were both soaked to the bone when we reached the gate. We were running up to the castle, trying to get to warmth before we got sick.

"Belle?" Blaise called, stopping and turning to face me. I had stopped running. My vision was foggy, my breathing shallow. I was just so dizzy. I fell into the muddy road. "Belle!" I heard Blaise yell.
