Chapter 1

Megan POV Reunion

“Matt!” I hollered down the hall. He turned so that his green eyes immediately connected with mine.

I smiled and ran towards him. I jumped at him and gave him a huge “Muffin Hug” as he calls it.

“Hey, Sparkly Muffin Mouse!” he spun me around as he called me yet another pet name with ‘muffin’ in it. He’s sort of obsessed with calling anything that has to do with me ‘muffin something or another’. I sighed and rolled my eyes. I let go of him and turned to wave goodbye to my friends Kylie, Kim, and Kyndall.

Yes, three K’s. KKK. Yep, that’s what they call themselves, “Murderously Hot” is their motto. Yep, got to love em’!

I turned back to Matt and raised an eyebrow. Or, tried to raise, anyways. “So, tell me, have any hot guys caught your eye lately?” I inquired.

He chuckled, “Megs, I’ve looked at every single gay guy in this school. And the only one who’s caught my eye so far, is me.”

I smiled at his joke. I knew he had more to say about the subject of boys, but I didn’t want to hear it. Not since Sean…

“Straws?” I turned at the way too familiar voice.

My heart leaped at the sight, even though it still ahd cracks from the voice’s owner. There stood the oh-so-famous, Sean. Yes, him and his perfect singing self.I have to give his singing credit, right? It’s the thing that sent me bawling at the sight of his new CD at the local target.

I thought we were in love. I really did. We spent every waking second together. He held my hand, comforted me when I was hurt, and was there for me. He started writing songs for me, too. Love songs that brought me to tears when I first heard them.

One night, after a romantic dinner at his parent’s restaurant, he brought me home and we went up to my room, where he told me that he had gotten a record deal, and had to leave Florida and move to California. Then, he proceeded in breaking my heart.

“I’m going to miss you, Straws,” were the words he last said to me.

After that, I dealt through the congratulation ceremony the school threw for him, and hearing his name after every other word on my favorite talk shows. That and all the songs he wrote for “me” are now on his new, platinum album. Oh, and of course, the horrible nickname he insisted on calling me has ruined my relationship with straws.

Sean smiled and ran towards me. He gathered me in a hug and I got a good whiff of his old leather jacket. He set me down and I crossed my arms. He smiled down at me, eyes sparkling familiarly.

“Wh-Wha-What,” I took a breath and tried to calm myself. I took a couple deep breaths and backed up a bit. “What are you doing here, Sean?”
I felt Matt step behind me. I put one of my hands down to my side. He took the hint and grabbed it. I squeezed his hand and he squeezed mine back. What would I ever do without him?

Sean’s face hardened, “Who’s this?”

Oh yeah, I forgot that Sean never met Matt. Oops!

“Why do you care?” I asked him.

“Why do I care? Why do I care? I care because I didn’t think that anyone was taking my girl while I was gone!” He turned to Matt. “Who the heck are you?”

I shook my head. No! Sean was not going to come back after a year and a half and start cussing out at my friends! “Come on, Matt. We have better things to waste time on.” Then I turned on my heel and left. I heard Matt behind me and a loud huff in our dust.
