Chapter 1

Liar, Liar, Beautiful Liar

~The Next Day~
I decided as I walked home that I would talk to my mother. She would have to listen. She would have to understand. And then it was time to break it off with Damion. The acid devoured my heart and soul at that thought.
I got home and walked in the kitchen where my mother stood. "Mom. We really need to talk." I said. She turned and faced me. No emotion showing on her face. "This. This girl you see. Mom, this is me. Damion isn't a satanist. He's a good guy and you know it deep down, you know he is. Don't judge him like that." I said. Her hard expression softened. "I love you more than anything in the world. I don't know what I would ever do if something happened to you. I would rather die than have to live without you, dad and Damion. I love you so much but you make me hate living here when you won't let me be me." I continued. "Please say you still love me, mom. Because I can't meet your expectations if I don't have any clue what they are. I try so hard to be the best I can but you know yourself, I don't belong here. I'm the outcast. The laughing joke. I always have been and nothing can change that. You have to understand my point of view on this." I said with tears forming in my eyes. I inched closer towards her. "I still love you, Brianna. Nothing will ever change that. Your my daughter. My expectations of you is for you to do the best you can. I can't see your exact view on this or why you want to look this way but as long as you don't take it to the extremes I don't care." She said. I walked over and hugged her. "I love you." I said with tears rolling down my face. "I love you, too, baby." She replied.
I waited in the park for Damion to show up. I had to fight the tears. I saw him walking towards me in the dusky twilight. I had to lie the best way I could. It was going to be hard to lie straight to those beautiful eyes of his. God how I hated that. Then he walked up. "What's wrong?" He asked with concern roaming his beautiful face. I knew he could see the tears in my eyes with the dim street lights. "I...don't...think...you...should... be near me." I said slowly. Selecting my words with careful focus. I saw the hurt in his eyes. I bit my tongue fighting to tell him the truth. "What? Why? What'd I do? Is there something I need to do or change? Is it something I said?" He asked rather fast. "No, Damion. It's nothing you did. Its, its me. Your too good for me. You deserve better. You deserve someone who can be like you with you and not get judged easily and not have parents fighting with you every night. You deserve way better than me." I said. "No. No. Bri, no. Don't, don't do this. You are the greatest I could ever do. I can't find anyone better for me than you. As for the parents I just don't care. Don't walk away from me now after everything we've been threw. This isn't the weak point. We've passed the weak point. Don't give up now." He said. For the first time, I saw tears running down Damion's face. My heart melted with hurt. "Its just better for you to stay away from me. I'm dangerous to be around. I could do so much damage to everyone. I don't even want my friends around me because I know the dangerous monster I am." I lied. "How are you dangerous? Your just full of love and compassion. How can you harm anyone?" He asked. I swallowed the lump in my throat. Or atleast attempted it. "I can do emotional damage. I'm the last person you want around." I said. I didn't lie. I could do emotional damage and physical damage. "I've known you for months now and you worry about it now?" He asked. "Look at what I done to you three weeks ago! Don't get attached to me because I never stick around. I leave scars, Damion!" I said. He moved closer to me. He wrapped his arms around my waist. "Your such a beautiful liar." He said softly. He kissed me softly and tears trickled down my cheeks. "I'm not lying." I lied. "Stay as far away from me as you can before you get hurt." I warned. "If you only knew how hard it is to stay away from you. I can't guarantee that I can stay away." He said tracing my jawline with his fingertips. Tears ran down my face even more as they did his. It was dark. Pitch black except for the street lights. "I have to go. Its late." I said backing away slowly. He grabbed my wrist softly and stopped me. "When do you think I can see you again?" He asked. "I- I don't know. I'll let you know." I said. I hated this feeling but I knew it was to protect him.
I got home. I saw Monica sitting on the steps. "What the h3ll are you thinking?" She asked with a touch of anger. "What?" I asked. "Leaving Damion! What's wrong with you?" She asked. "What the h3ll? How'd you know?" I asked. "He came to me and tried to get me to talk you into going back! Bri, after everything he clearly loves you and you love him. Now tell me what the h3ll your thinking!" She demanded. "None of you need to be near me. I'm dangerous. I can hurt everyone very easily. Just, just don't get near me right now. I have became who I am and the the real me is coming out. I can't take the chance of hurting anyone right now." I lied again. I tried walking up the steps. She grabbed my wrist and I turned and looked at her. "I don't know what is wrong with you but I know your lying. The truth will come out soon." She warned. I gulped silently. "I'm doing this for everyone." I said. "Your lying, Bri! I promise I won't tell anyone." She replied. I hated not to tell my best friend but Hayley said herself anyone near me or Jamie was in danger of Dani. "I told you the truth." I lied. She looked at me with an expression I couldn't read. "I'll try to understand." Monica said calmly. Tears ran down my face. She started to walk away. "Monica." I said. She looked at me. "I'm sorry. I'm just a wreck right now. I don't know when it'll be over but when it is, I'll let you guys know." I said. She nodded and walked away.
~1 Week Later~
I was sitting in my room watching a movie with Jamie. My parents was gone somewhere with Brenda so me and Jamie was watching a 101 Dalmatians. It was dark. I looked over at the clock and saw it was 7 o'clock.
I had thought about Monica, Skylar, Damion, Addison, Chrystal and Lilly Mae. I couldn't help but wonder if Damion was going insane like I was. I couldn't help but wonder what everyone was doing. It was a natural curiosity I suppose. "Ooo! Look at the puppy!" Jamie exclaimed waking me from my day dreaming. He was pointing to the T.V. screen where the dogs were running. "Yeah. Pretty puppies aren't they?" I asked. "Uh-huh." He said. I heard someone knock on the door. "Stay right here." I told Jamie walking down the stairs. I walked down the stairs and to the front door. The glass window of the door was wavy and I could only see the outline of a persons body. I knew it was a male though. I opened the door thinking it may be Damion. I looked in the eyes of Dani. His sandy blond hair spiked and his dark brown eyes staring me down. I quickly slammed the door in his face and locked it. I ran up stairs. I could hear Dani beating on the door. "Jamie, baby. Come on. We're playing a game ok? Its called hide and don't come out until someone finds you." I said picking him up. He wasn't believing my lie. Thankfully my parents had a secret vault thing made in the floor under my bed to hide myself and a few others or anything else for any reason. I opened the door under my bed. "Shh! Don't say anything. When you hear my voice or your mama's call you then you come out. Don't come out for anyone else." I said. "Ok." He replied. I shut the little door and came out from under the bed. I heard the door break when Dani broke it down. I got a baseball bat and ran down stairs to keep him from searching my room for Jamie. "Don't play games, Bri. I'm just here for my baby brother." He said darkly. I eased my way around the house with my bat in hand. I had a part of a plan. I was going to lead him away from the house before he could have the chance to find Jamie. I didn't know if it would play out like in the horror movies or how it would end. However it ended I would make sure Jamie was safe. I just hoped I was alive to see it. To see Damion. To see everything.
I walked up behind Dani silently. "Come on. Let's not play games now." He said. He must not have known I was behind him. I held the bat back and hit him with all my strength in his back. He fell to the floor. He laughed evilly while lying on the floor. I ran outside. I knew my mom had left her car outside and the keys in it. I couldn't really drive but I was about to learn. I turned the key and the car wouldn't crank. I kept trying and it still wouldn't crank. I saw Dani coming. "Dammit, crank!" I demanded like I was talking to someone. Dani got closer.
