Would you Survive a stay at Waverly Hills Sanatorium?

by: StarbornBadwitch

I live relatively close to it actually, it's just across the river. It's a mysterious old place where the dead still live according to many locals and even outsiders. It opened in 1910 as a two-story hospital to accommodate 40 to 50 tuberculosis patients. In the early 1900s, Jefferson County was ravaged by an outbreak of tuberculosis (the "White Plague") which prompted the construction of a new hospital. It's known as one of the most haunted places in America.

Urban legend claims that 63,000 deaths occurred at the Sanatorium. Independent researchers suggest that since 162 people died at Waverly in 1945, the highest total number of deaths possible was 8,212.

Many dead bodies were moved through the first floor tunnel to be prepared for the grave. It's called the Death Tunnel or Body Chute.

A nurse was hanged in room 502 with the light wire. Nobody knows weather it was murder or suicide, but we know she'd just found out she was pregnant by the owner of Waverly. Many have seen her ghost.

In 2010 or 2011 a group of Satanists did a ritual in the woods around the Sanatorium, after that many people including those who didn't believe in such things, saw red orb-like things in the area
