It's easier to be sarcastic when speaking, than writing (unless whoever you're talking to doesn't get sarcasm). When being sarcastic while writing (this is for online threads or chatting, not for stories or essays), sometimes you'd have to add an emoticon or extra punctuation mark to indicate sarcasm. :/
to their credit... it is a bit different to get sarcasm spoken as opposed to in writing... but yea it is pretty frustrating huh?
After so many years on here I've tried to avoid any sarcasm in my posts :/ people just don't get it...
It's frustrating, isn't is? -_-
@flow_wolf: But like if I have to point out that I'm being sarcastic every time I'm being sarcastic, it kills the whole sarcastic element.
I'm sarcastic all the time and it irritates me to no end when people don't understand when I'm being sarcastic.... -__-
Duh, just do what everyone else on the internet does. If you're being sarcastic write ^s or /s after your comment.
I concur, most people don't even know actual joking here, let alone sarcasm.
I've stopped being able to recognize when I'm being sarcastic or being sincere....
Actually online sarcasm is very difficult to understand because it is specifically for spoken words, it is the way you say the words that make it sarcastic......if you look up the word "sarcasm" it says a lil' some thing, some thing, about the vocals and spoken words.
