I know the differences because I care. I look like an "emo boy" but my music prefs fall into punk.
The thing is, most people who mix them up, don't care that they are doing so.
It's usually people who have no real connection to any of it.
Very similar to the kind of people who say 'all metal sounds the same to me' when there is clear difference between, say, folk metal and black metal.
(I didn't realize someone else said it until I typed this all out. so. yeah. there you go)
CassiCandi needs to do some research.
Those bitlles dont understand and quibblo doesn't understand THE ART OF SWEARING!!!!!The little fvcker
Emo is just a shortened term for 'emotional'.
Goth is someone who dresses in all black, usually has black hair, and listens to 'gothic' music (In my opinion)
And someone who is punk listens to punk music and dresses how punk people dress
Maybe because no one ever showed them the difference. It is clear that you are aggravated about the subject. Show people the difference and they will see it.
Probably because they just don't care. They think everything's the same, which is pretty ignorant. One thing I can't stand is when goth and emo get labeled as the same subculture and putting scene and emo in the same genre. These people aren't educated like us. They believe in EVERY stereotype!!! It ticks me off and annoys the life outta me
Because they want their view of these separate genres to be the right one. And they don't care if they offend anyone in the process.
It's probably because they're not interested in educating themselves about stereotypes...
well maybe to some people the differences aren't as clear..... and they see more of the similarities.
