I don't know.
The nurse's office should have them, just like they stock tampons. If students need one, they'll take it. This doesn't encourage anything...it just encourages students to do it safely, rather than without protection.
There are quite a few teen moms in my school, some who had their babies in junior high. There was also a chlamydia outbreak a few years ago in my school. Obviously the abstinence training in health class isn't working.
That's a difficult question.
The good thing about giving out condoms to students is that there's less of a chance of getting an unwanted pregancy and there's less of a risk of spreading STD's.
The bad thing about this is that it encourages young men and women to think that sx is nothing but a game. Teens do not think about the consequences for their actions. Sx is supposed to be something special with someone you love whom you won't regret "losing" your virginity to.
But they should be avalable.
the school i went to my freshman year had them in the nurses office, you could go in there and grab a couple. i remember, my friend would always make me go get her some.... [come to think of it, maybe it is a bad idea considering shes got a lil 2 yr old baby boy now...]
although i always have [and always will] say that kids will do it if they want to, dash the consequences. maybe its a good idea to stay safe? not like they wont do it if they cant get protection, you know?
No, it's a school not a clinic.
Like 36193/DemonicMetalHead said above me, I don't think it's a good idea. It encourages teens to go mess around because 'they're safe!' when they absolutely shouldn't be messing around in the first place.
They can if they want to...it would be pretty smart.
I don't think it's wise. It's like telling kids it's ok to have s*x even though your not committed to that person. Call me old fashioned, but kids should not be engaging in such things. Till about 18 or 19.
I think they should. But descreatly so then other students dont find out which students got some. Even though some will do it as a joke or to ''show off"
I think so but some teenagers are stupid and won't use them.
