I got my first phone when I was 8 because we went on holiday far from home and my mother thought just in case I got lost I could phone them. It was only meant to be a temporary thing but then my granddad said I could keep the phone. I'd had plenty of practice as I used to "borrow" my sister's phone quite a bit. I didn't actually have friends' numbers until I was about eleven and started comprehensive school.
I"m 13 and I still haven't gotten a phone yet.. :3
For practicality's sake, kids should get a cheap flip phone when they start going places without their parents. For example, when a teen is at the movies, and needs you to pick him/her up, a cell phone is necessary. After all, pay phones don't exist anymore.
A person should only be able to get a good phone when he/she gets a job to pay for it.
For my 10th birthday, but it was a track phone for emergencies.
I got a basic phone for use in emergencies when I started high school, so about 14. I've gotten a basic phone from Walmart recently that has limited texting ability for the same purposes recently.
11. I needed one because I stayed after school for classes alot
I got my first when I was eleven which was my Gran's old Nokia and was only used to phone home. When I turned twelve I got a Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 which is still the one I use now,
I had one when I was 4, true story!
I got mine when I was 13. My choice. I hate seeing kids under 12 having phones. When will they ever need a cell phone when they're that young? Can't little kids just stick to Nintendo?
I agree, when I pick my brother up from school I see eight year olds with BlackBerrys, it's crazy!
when i was 13
